I think this is more typical mis-information re. the Crossfire.
To the best of my knowledge, Karmann ended the production run this past Spring.
They may well be selling Crossfires through 2008 but they will be left over 2007 models.
But at least the new unlimited mileage powertrain warranty should apply !
As to profit margin, seems to me that DCX has ALREADY PAID FOR THE EXISTING INVENTORIES of Crossfires. Chrysler's new owners have therefore inherited this stock as part of their purchase deal. So...mark 'em down and move 'em out !

Surprise, surprise, on page 116 of the Sept. Motor Trend Magazine, they rate the "2008" Crossfire. They evaluate most of the 2008 vehicles. I would sure like to know where all of this hype is coming from.
I checked with my dealer yesterday and he knew nothing about an '08. Knew there were some '07's but nothing about '08's. He will check for me though because if I can order an '08 I'll turn this one in at lease end an order a new one. Otherwise if he can find exactly what I want new ('07 leftover) I'll take that. There really is just nothing like it for the money. Had someone approach me this morning and insisted on giving me his name and number to call him when my lease is up and he'll buy the car. He agreed there is nothing like it for the buyout $ and the condition and miles (5,300 as of now). Showed him how the top functioned and he flipped.
I Bought a 2006 Crossfire back in March. We have a real good relationship with our dealer here in western Cincinnati and one salesman in particular. I asked him about a number or things and he confirmed and/or denied the following...
(1) No 2008 model year Crossfires, He has five 2007 models soon to arrive. They will be covered by the new unlimited mileage powertrain warranties. Owners like myself will be offered an upgrade to the warranty for $750. Karmann's Crossfire production run of 2007 model year units ended late April. 2007 model year cars will be sold through 2008 or until the stock is depleted.
(2) There will be a replacement for the Crossfire. The Demon, or something very much like it is a go ! ( the name will probably change...) There may be variants on the platform. Technology and platform sharing agreements are still in place between Chrysler and Benz through the 2012 model year. M-Benz components WILL be utilized along with Chrysler parts. He was unsure if Karmann will be involved. However, Karmann's US facilities are listed on their website as able to produce BIW ("bodies in white")...
This guy has always provided solid info in the past so I have to believe what he is telling me is the latest scoop !
