Default Fun story

I work for a non-profit organization working with boards of education. These are volunteers who try and make every penny count towards the kids when they make budget decisions (and are unpaid volunteers themselves). Of course they are also concerned about how much they pay for dues to be members to our organization.

So, I pull up for a meeting with a board last night and first the superintendent goes "Is that your Crossfire out there?" "yep."

Then the Assistant sup't and tech coordinator come in. "Who owns that beautiful Crossfire out there?"

Then each of the 7 board members comes in - "What is that beautiful black car out there in the parking lot." Of course they now think that they must be paying exorbitant dues since a lowly staff person is driving such an expensive car...

Reminds me of when my wife first drove our Crossfire to work three years ago (she's works at the public high school). That day there was a question sweeping the school wanting to know who was driving the $80k sports car parked in the lot! We got quite a chuckle about that.

So far the most common comment I've gotten is "what a cute little car" from older women.

Same here women always say it's a CUTE car. I guess it is actually but I would rather think of it as COOL myself and unique for sure.

Hmmm,

I keep reading all these stories of Gas Station, Co-Worker, and parking lot admiration. I haven't had any attention at all in my 6. I'm jealous.

Yeah, I'm a big mean looking pig of a man that causes children to run away with the fear of god ...

I think it has more to do with the fact that there are very little middle class in my area. Low income people are jealous the millionaires are too busy driving their Ferraris and Bentleys to give S*&^.

People around here are so jaded it's comical.

Yea you are right it does very much depend on your area... and the people that inhibit it... going anywhere in New York I never got any attention cause the people are busy with all kinds of bs.. and do not have the capacity or the energy to admire anything around them... these same people would not notice an exelero if it passed by...

But when I drive down to Jersey or PA the attitude is completely different...

i get the gas station comments all the time.

sometimes i'll be driving with the windows down and radio off and i'll hear a pedestrian say "Crossfire." also heard it last night as i drove through the classic car cruise.

if i hear anything at work, it's someone making a comment about being paid too much. that, or "why do you have three cars?"

Well, if you really want attention may I suggest you zip along the highway at 140+ MPH. Millions will be watching you on the next episode of "Cops".

I think I'll start parking in gravel lots and at the next cute comment I'll spin out and pelt Mrs. Middleage with rocks. Bet she won't think my car is cute after that.

No please, refrain.

She'll still think the car is cute but she'll know the driver is a horse's *ss.

Besides, It's rude and you'll get rock chips on your paint.

Well then I'd be tempted to take her up to 140 to see what she does.
