Default Check Engine Light

Greetings,
I'm a new member to the Forum. I have a 2005 Chrysler XFire Roadster with approx. 15,000. The other day the Check Engine Light displayed. I took the car to AutoZone to get a readout which was P2098. Does anyone have an idea what this means. Any help would be most appreciated...Thanks!!!

It might be the "710" fluid.

BLEW, It appears to be related to 'fuel trim'...whatever that means. Make sure that the gas cap is tight because it will definitely throw a code if not. If the cap is tight, the code clear, and it doesn't reappear...don't worry about it.

It is definitely a "powertrain" code, but I could not find that code number under Chrysler or Mercedes Benz.

Go here for Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep Codes, and you may want to post your question here also and see if you can get an answer.

Go here for Mercedes Benz Codes.

Hi Everyone!

I have been a lurking member for a while.

I just pulled the code for my check engine light this morning. I bought a V-Checker off Ebay and it arrived last night. I received the same code P2098 "Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean". I set the device to Professor mode and then set it to Benz.

Osofast2 - I live in Lexington as well. The signal came on twice in the last month. It disappeared the first time. The second time it came on after I filled up with premium gas after a tankfull of regular my wife accidently pumped a few days before. I think its the gas, but I don't know what to replace or rest.

With a bit of luck it will go away again, press the clear codes button and keep your fingers crossed. the gas will probably not do that as others have used regular and had no problems (yet?)
My second bit of advice is to just drive it yourself.

We are probably getting some crappy gas in the area, so I would say it might not come back. Thanks for the response.

No. My name is Tom. My wife and I have a 2005 Aeroblue Limited Roadster in Lexington with University of Kentucky tags N2UK. We bought the car in June with 19,000 miles on it and have had a blast. I'm a little embaressed to say we hit 30,000 last week.

N2UK is the call sign of a Ham Operator in New Jersey.

I wondered if he'd moved without yet filing with the FCC, and if we had yet ANOTHER ham operator on here.

WOW! I have put almost 5,000 on mine since July 6th - and I thought I'd gone nuts!

Let's hope you are not an English prof or you would be embarrassed.
Sorry, slow night.

Maybe the ham operator is a UK fan also.

mine does it often, push down on cap when tightening. also the plunger afair must be out before door is closed so the door pressure will close it.
