Electric (Up/ Down) Radio Antenna

Has anyone installed an electric radio antenna? I always liked the ones on earlier model Corvette's. This one looks too big. Any ideas, who has done it?

I installed a few of them back in the day...but only the aftermarket ones. (JC Whitney etc.)
I replaced one in my '70 Toronado and it was about as big as your picture. The aftermarket ones were considerably smaller.
I don't know if that 'vette one would fit.
