Just my opinion but I think you did the right thing by buying the ESP. As you noticed the folding mechanism for the top is complicated so that should be covered. Also with the issues of the IC pump and seat heaters breaking down it should pay for itself. I just think it is cheap insurance and for my own peace of mind so I bough one too.
