Getting the top down?
This is surely a newbie question - I don't understand how to get the top down. I beleive I'm having problems with the trunk.
Reading through the instructions in the owner's manual, there's about six steps for putting the top down. I beleive I'm executing them correctly, of releasing the latch near the front, and then giving the top about eight inches of clearance from the windshield. Yet, when I press the electronic button to begin lowering the top, nothing happens except beeps.
Looking elsewhere, there's some text on moving panels around in the trunk, to make sure there's space to accomodate the top. The text isn't clear to me on this point. I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to be doing. When I open the trunk latch and look insider, everything looks clear to me.
Can someone provide directions, or better yet, pics, or best, a pointer at a YouTube video?

Then with the ignition on, open the top by pulling down on the handle and turning. Push up about 6 to 8 inches and the windows should lower. Now, press and hold down the switch to lower the top. Let go of the switch after the top is lowered and you hear a beep. You must hold the switch down until the top is completely lowered.
Just reverse the procedure to raise the top.
There are sensors in the partition in the trunk.
Make sure it is seated right or you will get the beeping and it won't work.
Take the partition down...stick your head in the trunk now reassemble the partition you will see it if you look.
When you turn and push the top up its like its springs to the right position.
And when putting the top down hold the button down til it beeps at you that its done.
If you keep on the button after the top is down, both windows will go up...no biggy just let go of the button and push the individual buttons to put the windows down.
Make sure you get that beep after putting the top down....it makes sure the hatch is latched.
Also if you are going to fast the top won't go down and the car will beep at you then also.....there is a way to bypass this feature.

I had that same problem the first day I bought ours at an auction. It's the partition - Even if it looks to be in place (vertical), disengage it and snap it back into place with a little extra 'umphh'. Once I did that, the top was happy. At least on mine, the spoiler had nothing to do with it.

I tried to put it down today with the spoiler up and the top went down, I don't know what I did that was different but I guess your right.
