Lack of audible chirp or beep to verify doors are locked by remote.

Lack of compass. You really get used to having a compass. My Saturn Outlook doesn't have one either. I do have a Garmin Nuvi but it isn't always plugged in.

The beep can be programmed. And with the Nav radio you get a compass.

I hate how far the seatbelt has to be tucked down next to the drivers seat when snapping it together It is just to low. It needs to be a bit higher up.

I hate how all the ladies, like the one in my Avatar, think they can just hop in anytime they want

The visors would cover the side window. How could you see?

SEAT BELT ALARM
I do wear my seatbelt but if just moving the car from the garage to the end of the driveway or across a parking lot at the mall it would be nice to not have a seatbelt alarm go off immediately when I put the car in Drive.

No electric motor stops on seat movement
Speakers wired up in series so you cant fade sound front to back to front, etc
Outdated radio/cd player that doesnt do much else
Wheel rims that stand proud of the tyres
Washer water container that overflows inside wing panel
See posts on "Water leaking in causing rusty doors"

If it had a Merc Badge would these things have been cured by the factory
at some time between 2003 and 2008?

I don't know if it's still the case, but a couple of years ago, all you had to do about the cupholder was take it to the dealer to swap out a little cubbyhole. My cell fits like a charm.

No Sirius is my bummer. I leave my cars factory, so no new head unit for me. So no Howard Stern.

Seems this complaint doesn't arise among two pluralities of xfi owners;

1) Guys who don't hesitate to modify (ah, Youth)

2) Dittoheads, who only need an AM radio.

1) So far, the cruise control is infuriating. I always hit the tiny stalk when I want to change lanes. Also, there's no visual indicator when the cruise is active.

2) Audio controls on the steering wheel would be nice.

3) The autostick needs a dedicated gate with front-back shifts instead of side to side.

Talking Re: Least favorite Crossfire feature?

My only complaint is that the rear tires don't last long at all. Wait... that is my fault.

I love the autostick not being dedicated with front-back shift and is side to side. Provides quick response and is awsome at the Dragon run in North Carolina. I have another vehicle with dedicated front and back shifting and is not as fun quick action compared to the slapstick.

I think I have one no one else got to yet! ...the poor plastic material DC used for the headlights, particularly in the early models that tend to fog and crap up. Looks horrible.

-1st gear

-the manual shifter has always seemed a tad clunky to me

-throttle response time (can be helped with sprint booster)

-poor ergonomic design for the seats (no lower back support, and I'm only 21)

-seat bolsters tend to crease and wrinkle (its only an '04 c'mon!)

-cheap sound of opening and closing the center console CD holder

-no MP3 audio jack

-non-digital climate control (little colored ***** can be annoying)

-soft paint

-heavy doors that tend to swing outward in the slightest breeze

-the hatch door is way too heavy for its pressurized hinges (unaware friends and family let the door slam down from the top, eventually causing burn out to the license plate bulbs)

-when the rear defroster is on radio reception turns to crap

...I still love the car. But with a few tweaks here and there it could have been so much better! Its all about the little things that differentiate a good car from a great car.

Not fully motorized convertible top!!!

Why didnt DC go the extra step to motorize the opening and closing of the latch? Seemed that they just go lazy to me. As most people think that this car is overpriced anyway, charging a few more bucks for this feature would not have made a difference.
