golf clubs in trunk ??
Hello everyone. I currently own an 04 Crossfire coupe and am thinking of trading to a convertible. My question is whether a set of golf clubs will fit into the trunk of the convertible. Any golfers with a crossfire out there? Let me know, thanks.

Thanks guys, kind of figured but hadnt physically tried it as yet. The crossfires are one of the best looking drop tops out there but its hard to find a sports car with enough trunk space.
You can put a full set of hockey gear in the trunk, even with the top down, by taking it out of the bag and distributing it under the softop and around the trunk. But the sticks need to go in the cabin.
No such luck for golf.

I have tried every way possible, just like I bet many of the golfers here.
I even tried putting the passenger seat forward and put them behind it and they did not fit. So.... my clubs are my passenger as well.

Granted the top was up, but a trip to Costco, family of four and it all fit in. With the top's panels (in the trunk) in place (so the top can come down) you can't fit a small rectangle roll on piece of luggage in directly. You need to first move the panels up and away, put in the luggage, then put the panels back in place. Too much trouble for us, easier to use a small carry on bag and pack light.
I have a small, carrying, golf-bag and I can get it in my truck if I take the driver out and fairway woods out. I then put just the driver in the passenger area and place the fairway woods (I actually use slightly shorter "iron-woods" or "rescue/cpr" clubs for the fairway) on top of the bag. All this is done with the top-up to allow more positioning room in the trunk. Once postioned in the trunk, I would then lower the top...
Now, I've only done this once, since it is a hassle to arrange everything properly... It's just easier to take our PT convertible instead.. My brother-in-law takes his clubs in his Crossfire via his passenger seat..
As stated by others, a Crossfire Convertible is too nice a car to NOT buy it just because of the trunk limitations. I have more fun in it than with the golf clubs!! ;-)

This is exactly what I told others when they told me I couldn't fit any clubs in the trunk. I also said all I'll need as my passenger is my clubs so make sure you bring your own cars.
Hey
I can't fit my clubs in the trunk with or without the top down. The trunk just isn't wide enough or deep enough to fit a driver. I guess I didn't realize you could get clubs in the coupe. So I either take my clubs or my husband in the front seat!!!
