Windscreen Reviews...
As a constant lurker, one of the questions that seems to keep poping up is "Hi, I'm going to purchase a windscreen for my roadster - which one do you recommend?" I just surfed onto this, http://www.windscreenreview.net/, that has windscreen reviews for the Roadster, and plenty of other windscreens too. So, this can be of help in answering this semi-constant question.
Nice find! The thing it doesn't address is looks and care. I personally like the looks and care of the mesh screen found at http://www.tuningshop.co.uk.
The plexiglas windscreens reflect light into the review mirror and are a ***** to keep clean. The cloth mesh looks like they came with the car and are very durable. It would take a very sharp knife to cut them. But then, even a dull knife or key would do a number on the plexiglas windscreens.

When I first purchased my roadster, just about three months ago, I was hot to get a windscreen figuring it would make "top down" riding more enjoyable. I really thought is was the thing to do. I really liked the looks of the plexiglass ones that light up, and I was within an inch of purchasing one until I saw the mesh screens here at the forum. I really liked the looks of them too and they seem more functional than the plexiglass ones. I decided to wait and read on as forum people posted their pros & cons about their windscreens.
Needless to say, I've been driving with the top down in temps ranging from the 40's to the 80's. When it's chilly out the windows go up, the heat is on high, and the heated seats are activated. When it's warm out, the windows are down, the heat is off, and the heated seats also remain off.
I purchased a roadster to once again enjoy the open air views and the wind blowing through what hair I have left. It's like living the dream of the good old days when convertibles were plentiful and riding with the top down was the next best thing to sliced bread. It's even better now that there are so few convertibles on the road.
Will I ever buy a windscreen? At this point I would have to say, "Probably not." I like the way the Crossfire Roadster feels with the top down, and I have no reason to alter that. Isn't that why all us roadster owners purchased a convertible?
The only disadvantage I've read about is the lady's hair blowing all over the place. My answer to that is put it up, wear a pony tail or a ball cap, or let it fly. If the hairdo is important for a special dinner or whatever, leave the roof up until you're headed home.
Convertibles are made to be driven with the top down and the wind blowing through the cockpit area. Enjoy that feature while you can. As my late father-in-law told me, "Where ever you may be, may your wind blow free." I don't know if he was talking about sail boating or flatulence, but it could apply to top-down cruising.

I've had both. I prefer the one I have because it is personal. The mesh a good to. Actually the mesh can reduce visabilty more than the light up type, especially at night. Variety is the spice of life. If everyone liked all of the exact same things, life would sure be boring.
I have the plexi. I think it's a bit over priced but... It's contoured to the car, it is often barely even visable, it definitely reduces wind noice on the highway (main reason I bought it), and I'm thinking when you're using the heat with the top down it might make keep a little more heat in than the mesh??
They make a HUGE difference on the highway - you can have a conversation or listen to the radio without hearing all the wind baffle.

I just got my Plexiglass Wind Restrictor installed about ... an hour ago. I've had my '05 Roadster for a year, and wasn't sure whether it was needed. After a quick after-install joyride, I'm very happy with the results.
My impression: It does reduce the intensity of the wind buffetting at highway speeds, but the breeze through the headrests helps maintain the open cockpit feel. When the side windows are up, there is a pronounced improvement. With windows down, it just smooths the airflow a bit and reduces that wind blast on the back of your head.
Overall ... it is just what I needed. Improves the ride comfort just the right amount, and looks great. I can't help you decide between a mesh and a plexi model ... but I can recommend the WindRestrictor.

It looks like they won't have them again from what I understand. Too bad because they really looked like good screens.
Anyone have another recommendation on a good Crossfire wind deflector?
I have and love the light up Windrestrictor Winds screen. I've had mine almost two years. It works great and grabs attention. Check out my gallory or go to Windrestrictor.com.

If Lexus is ordering 1000 of these things, it says lots for this windscreen.

The Jay Senoff screens go the entire length including the hoops - however it mounts on the front and therefore restricts the reclining distance by 1 - 2 inches...I tried it and sent it back. I opted for the OEM windscreen which mounts in the middle of the hoops by a strap on each and a plastic channel - I love it...
For those of you on the fence, or can't stomach throwing so much money at these dinky little things, you can make one for about twenty bucks. And they can turn out just as nice as the store-bought item.
It's an easy afternoon project with a jig-saw, a drill and some 400/600/1500 sandpaper. PM or just do a Search.

I have the Plexiglas as well. I just have the Crossfire logo and the words Crossfire engraved below the logo (the symbol of the Roadster). I have RED lit with RED LED lights. I work 3rd shift so most of my driving (to and from work) is at night. What I have noticed is the RED glow on the highway is almost reminiscence of a "night lite". Pretty cool........ When a car approaches from behind ( stop light or intersection ...no one going to be passing me on the open roads...forget that !! )....but the light on the reflection seems to disappear when the approaching car gets close. I wish I could remember what candle light the LED's were...but it's almost perfect. RED when no reflective light hits it...and when it needs to be "dampened" the color fades away with following headlights.
I have a tendency to be VERY protective of my car and park in a secluded part of the parking lot at work and 10 x's out of 10 I'll BACK into the spot which means directly looking back through the windscreen...I can beat that by turning off the lights...back up without too much trouble.
I LOVE mine. Seems to be just right ....bright when I want it to be ( my night light in the **** pit) and seems to fade away when cars pull up behind me.... Until I find 2nd and 3rd gear ....that is...LOL

I may have a solution that would allow for your product to completely shut off when you go into reverse so that you do not have to worry about lighting. No charge, just contact me at Sales@windrestrictor.com and I'll tell you how I have mine set up.
Thanks for the great feedback on our product!
