Back Window coming off Convertible top. Anyone else?
my 2005's back window is coming off the convertible top.
Anyone else having this problem? My full warrantee isn't going to cover it. (Chrysler will pay $1700 of the $2200 to replace the whole top)
But anyone know how to stick the back window back to the top? Any suggestions?

I'm afraid this is going to be a problem all Roadster owners are going to have to deal with eventually, especially if you live in a warmer climate.
If you can get a new top for $500.00 I'd say go for it.
It seems that the window is vulcanized in place from the factory, and there isn't any sure fire way of repairing it that I have heard of.
Good Luck

I have seen this problem brought up twice before in this forum and both times it was covered by the warranty. I'm just curious why the dealer refuses to cover this under the BUMPER TO BUMPER warranty. Even the MaxCare extended warranty offered by Chrysler Corporation I believe specifically states that the convertible top is covered.

the dealer is maroone chrysler jeep of coconut creek (south florida)
I was in for something else that the warrantee DID cover and had the car for three days in the shop, and they didn't rind me my Chrysler max warrantee gives me a free rental and they didn't even wash the car.
That dealer does suck. Can anyone point me to the tread where other had have had their tops covered. I'm past the original warrantee but I have "the best warrantee that Chrysler sells" according to the guy attending me at the dealer.
Thanks everyone dr the excellent responses

Here's the write up of the Chrysler MaxCare extended warranty and you might want to highlight and show your dealer that this is an "exclusionary" warranty meaning if it is not excluded then it is covered. It also shows what items are excluded.

Here's one thread where they fixed the rear glass under warranty.

Here's another one by Rmaderman who owns two Crossfires.

Thank you for the information. I'll give them a call right now.

That dealership should never have sold that piece of junk to anyone. Fortunately my son had an extended warranty and only had to pay $100.00 for the repairs. They even had to replace the entire wiriing harness. I asked him if it had been underwater, cause that's the kind of thing that makes all systems fail but he said no. It has been a nightmare from day one and it still has problems with the suspension.
Cause they don't seem to bother calling you back and they seem to take FOR EVER for anything that they have to do.
Mine came off and is in the shop now. They have not said anything about me having to pay any money to get it fixed. I would definetly find out why they are charging you money.

I also am having this problem with the window seperating from the soft top. I called the closest dealer and they will not mess with it at all. But luckaly, the service guy i talked to made some phone calls for me. The best thing to use is 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive which can be purchased from Nappa or Carquest. Hope this helps someone else, this forum has helped me more then the manufacture.
