Default Mpg

I was looking at the Chrysler site the other day and noticed they are still promoting the 2008 model. The site also listed MPG as 20 city / 25 highway. These estimates seem very low. I get about 23 city and almost 28 highway and I drive above the speed limit. How does your MPG compare?

About the same. Drive about 60 % interstate and 40 % local. Average MPG just under 27.

I hover around 26-28 mpg depending if I have my foot in it.

I just checked mine yesterday, got 25 MPG in combined city/hiway use but I have a light foot.

Wouldn't it be refreshing if all cars beat the EPA ratings rather than fall far short as usual.

Recently drove San Diego to Las Vegas in my SRT-6. 70-80 most of the way - 75 avg, on it some passing cars, etc., and up some good long hills. Got 25 Mpg.

I get about 19 in the city and 23-24 on the highway. The SRT is better than my Dad's '05 GTO in the city by 3-4 mpg, but worse on the highway by about 4-5mpg. Our 5th gear should be a little taller.

If I'm lucky I'm getting 10-13 mpg in the city. No joke. All I do is drive about a mile to my office every couple of days (I walk when it's nice out). The stop signs and my favoring jack-rabbit starts don't bode well for mileage. Also, the parking garage we've got is a real tight, steep layout so you have to keep it in first up four levels.

I've had my 06 Roadster about 9 months and have consistently gotten between 29 and 30mpg. Most of my driving is on Interstates and I never exceed the speed limit.

Wow, I wish I could say that.
I always exceed the speed limit but do get 24mpg city and 31mpg highway.

That's about what I get on my Las Vegas trips - 24.5 to 25.5 mpg tops. I found that even doing 80 I was one of the slower drivers out there. Are people still speed demons or has the cost of gas slowed them down?

I'm getting 26 mpg with 65% around town driving. The 35% highway driving is usually at 75-80 mph while I try to keep up with traffic.

I believe that the automatic was rated higher in MPG than the stick on the EPA sticker that came on the window of the Crossfire. Correct me if I'm wrong. I remember because it's the first time that I can remember that the automatic beat the stick in MPG. It must be that the final drive ratio is more favorable to higher mileage on the automatic. It would be interesting if your posts said what transmission you have.

My 06 coupe averages around 23.5 in town

My wife and I took a trip to yellowstone , Came back thru Vegas and Phoenix
( a little over 4700 miles ) averaged a little over 31. ( 6 speed staying at the speed limit)

If I factor in that I am running 255/40/19 ( at 30 miles I actually cover a little over 31 miles)

So using this I was getting a little over 32 mpg. Lowest was a little over 29 mpg. Highest a little over 35 mpg.

I purchased some off brand additive from the Dollar store for one Dollar. Used it every time I more put then 10 gals in the tank. >

Calculated that the additive gave me adout 2 more mpg.

Thanks Ray

On the hwy, I will get 27ish. All in-town I will get 20-21ish as my foot is very heavy...

Drove to San Diego yesterday. Got 19mpg driving 80 or so. Next fuel up I was pushing 100+ a lot and mpg dropped to 15. (in the Roadster, top up. Hey it was 100+ degrees out there!).

I have yet to do a long, freeway only tank in this car - everything is combined fwy/city. My problem is I always have a heavy foot in this car (love the sound of the Magnaflow cat-back with the top down!!) and between the fwy and home is about 4.5 miles uphill, and that just kills fuel economy. In some places it's a 7% grade, and even in my wife's very fuel efficient little car the instant readout will be single digit at that point!!

I average about 24mpg in the Crossfire, lead foot and all. Not too shabby if you ask me.
