Clear lens condensation...normal?
Just came back from a run in a very hard rain.
Dry as a bone inside and the W switch does make
a difference. Very impressed with the handling.
Only thing I noticed is that both clear lenses over the
projector lamps have inside condensation in the
lower inside portion. Only about 3/4 inch and it
doesn't even run across the entire bottom of the lens.
Both lenses are exactly the same. I am
assuming this is normal when you run in
the rain with the lights on...
Yes?

If it's fog then it's not "normal" but it does happen. I can't put my finger on where to find it on this site, but there is a TSP on that. If I remember correctly it only happens in the early models as they corrected it later on.

what the fix was? It only took about an hour in the garage after I
got home for the condensate to disappear...
Your issue is not part of the TSB then. Go to this sticky and download the TSB. You could have a rubber plug missing. But since it happened to both, it may be normal for water to leak in through the rear vents in a really heavy rain. Has it dried out now? If not, try leaving your lights on for 45 minutes as stated in the TSB.
I am confused. Some of the entries say the headlights should be sealed, some say they are vented.
In my view, if these lights are supposed to be sealed, they would have a positive pressure in them and probably some innert gas like Nitrogen to keep moisture from entering at all.
Mine obviously have humidity in them, and when the cool water of the rain pours ove the front of the lens it causes that humidity to settle down at the bottom on the front of the lens. I was only in the rain for maybe 30 minutes but I got a build up of about 3/4 of an inch there. But when I parked it in my garage after about 30 minutes this condensate shrunk and eventually disappeared leaving no mark.
I will try to contact someone at Karman and see what they say...and until then I'll just stay out of the rain...as much as possible.

The TSB is BS .... IMHO. Some of the headlight units made in Belgium were not sealed properly. The TSB is to install a vent in the headlight, to let the water out. As if it should have ever gotten in there.
So every time you drive in the rain you will have to keep your headlights on for 45 minutes to dry them out????????
My dealer replaced both headlights.
