Unhappy Heat on exhaust tips

Ok, first question to everyone, I recently purchased an 05 Limited 6sp vert, and could not stand the fact that the exhaust note was so quite, so, I had installed today a Magnaflow system, kept the stock exhaust tips, so it looks factory. Anyway, driving home from the shop, I got on the gas hard to hear that nice new sound, and it does sound nice! When I got home, I was standing behind the car listening to the new sound and what not, when I discovered that the exhaust tips are really, really hot. I mean hot like take your finger, wet it, and touch the tips and you can hear a sizzle from the moisture on your finger tip. I was worried about the paint bubbling on the underside of the bumper, but all is ok. I do see all the heat shieding around the area where the exhaust is located. Has anyone felt this type of heat on the tips before? I should have checked the stock system for heat, but never thought to do so. Let me know. Thanks everyone!

Oh, yeah!

I installed a Magnaflow cat-back and after a few days, took it on a high speed run. 100+ for about 10 miles. The Magnaflow tips are now a beautiful light gold color and when I parked it, you could feel the heat from 3 feet away. No problems with the paint though...
