Default Crossfire newbie here...

First of all, let me introduce myself. This is my first post on this forum, and I hope it is a sign of many more to come.

I am 16 years old, and live in california. I will be getting my license anytime now, and I am in need of a car. My budget is 20k. The car I have been amazed at is the crossfire roadster.

Now, all my friends etc drive hondas and toyotas, and I want to be different.

My first question:

What is a good price to pay for a used roadster limited?

What are the differences between the years of the production?

What other cars are there that are in the crossfires range?

Also, this is going to be my first car, so would you recommend it as a first car?

What are the cars major cons?

If someone could help me out, that would be great.

Thanks!

Your persistence is admirable. But, rather then trying to answer all your questions, if you read the past posts you will have most if not all your questions answered. Many that have been on the forum for a number of years get tired and annoyed at answering the same questions routinely or on a daily basis.

Take the time to try and educate yourself with a little homework by reading through the posts. Yea , there's some garbage to sift through, but its an educational process and you will find out how passionate Crossfire owners can be about their unique automobile.

If there is something you can't find, then someone will be happy to help you out.

Good luck, My daughter got her SRT when she was 16 and still loves the car after 1 1/2 years.

VALKRYDERGUY gave you an excellent reponse and answered all your questions.

Well the thing is, my parents dont want a powerful car, and I was doing some great research, and I found that the crossfire is more of a road holder than an accelerator.

One question I couldnt find is:

How safe is the crossfire, lets say, to a totoya corolla?

Cool Re: Crossfire newbie here...

Welcome to the Forum!!!

The Crossfire is an awesome car for the money. The car handles beautifully, and is more quick than fast. To answer a few of your questions:

Maintenance can be high, remember it is an Mercedes Benz in Chrysler clothing.

The car requires Premium gas.

There is NO SPARE TIRE.

It has a high safety rating/crash test.

If you live in an area that has snow, you will need a snow tire package and should not be driven in deep snow if possible.

The Crossfire Roadster Limited at inception in 2005 was $41K, you can get a good used one for around $16 - $20K. If you search dealers you may be able to pick up a left over 2006 or 2007 for about $28K.

Two things...

Be euphoric that at 16 you've got 20 grand to blow on a car...

Be even happier that you can blow it on an $80,000.00 Mercedes Benz SLK/R170 platform disguised as a really cool Crossfire Roadster Limited for less than 25% of that price...

The looks and comments you will get on the road will make your day, plus the joy of driving it will be worth every penny...

To me it's a no brainer...

Thanks for all the replies..

Ever since I was 11 I have been working. Now, 5 years later, I have about 21k(Keep in mind I go to school every single day, and barely have time to work)

Anyway, Ive loved cars ever since I have sat in one. I think I am going to go towards the crossfire.

Thanks everyone for their input..

Now I just have to convince my parents that the car is not fast, and is very safe...Any idea how?
