Default I'm going in...cup holder swapout...

OK UPS just dropped of my new storage bin. Been doing my home work on this site and I'm going in! I'm back at the computer after removing the shift cover and some screws, but can't get the back console out. Seems to be connected to the front console where the gear shift is. I'm using search tools here, but does the console around the shift lever have to come out too? What about the 'center console" OK, more reaserch then going back in...

Hidden screws under carpet inside console, just found that using search tools. Back to the car...

DONE! Perfect! Took a quick ride and ran up thru the gears, nice not having the old cupholder pop up between shifts and have to use my elbow to hold it down! UPS tracking states my new carcover should be here by tomorrow. Just in time for the gardners who always seem to blow dust all over the car.

I will need to do that to mine and my new car cover showed up on friday lol.

I am going to hang my cupholder on a tree and shoot it a few times before throwing it in the garbage lol.

Nice to see you sorted the issue.

I have to say though that I've never had an issue with the cupholder in my car. Never accidently popped it open with my elbow, even when driving aggressively on track. Heck, even when I try to open it up I usually have to press down on it a couple of times because it doesn't want to open easily. I wonder if there's an adjustment for it? I've held water bottles, Starbucks Venti Lattes and a can of Coke in it. While certainly not the best design in the world (not by a long shot, truth be told), it's never been a problem for me.

My cup holder is constantly getting opened by my elbow, what a pain. Where did you get the storage pocket? I tried a few places mentioned in other threads and found the part number won't work.

Thanks,
James

Had to go to the trash to get the invoice. Ordered from Moparpart.com. Part number is...1BQ12XDVAA. desc: "bin stora"...for storage bin. List was $46.80...sold for $34.25 plus $10 shipping for total of...$44.25. Some might think that is on the high side, but I don't care, it was well worth it and I'm happy!

I did check out ebay, but could not find anything. I search the 'bay daily, for other things too. Maybe I did not use the right "search" words, but when I was looking, I could not find any at the time.

Forgot to put cupholder down yesterday when I got out. When I got back in I hit cupholder with my elbow an broke it clean off! Will replacemet tray snap in from the top of console or will I need to remove console to install replacement tray?
Thanks in advance
Wswen

If you are still under warranty, have the dealer do it for free.

That's priceless! What a fitting end to that miserable contraption.

Like Mike, I have never had a problem with mine. However with the location being where it is, I find it very annoying and to easy to use. I will put something in it, but it is just awkward trying to take out what ever I put in it to drink.
