Default Extra engine cooling

Don't hate, you snow birds! I'm on vacation this week and decided to take a run up to the local canyons. It was like 85*+ today. Top down, , up in the twisties and no one around. Perfect. Most of the road is 3rd gear, bouncing off the rev limiter from time to time, then there is a section about 5 miles long that is mostly 2nd gear, left, right, left with hardly any staights. Total from top to bottom is 23 miles, but this was cut short because of road construction. Anyway, I noticed my temp guage was creeping over the half way mark, so I turned on my heater full blast. I remember from the old days that if your car starts to overheat, turn on the heater because basically there is another "radiator" for the heater with a fan blowing across it to bring heat into the car. Temp dropped below the half way mark by a good 1/16" or more. The heat blowing into the car reminded me of riding a motorcycle on a hot day. Just FYI. Watch me be wrong and someone corrects me and says the heater in our cars is electric. Doh! Lower temps mean more HP for you drag guys. OK back to poker.......

I am toying with the idea of moving to LA. Thanks for contributing to my dissatisfaction of "plains life".

LA? Expensive, but if you can afford it then go for it!!

These northern VA roads are incredible fun. I feel like I'm doing a tarmac rally stage on anything south of I-66.

That's going to make the Dragon Run a bit problematic, don't you think?

Don't do it!!!

Have used that trick a few time in my old muscle cars. Works wonders!
Just suks driving around with no AC with the heater on!

I love the feeling of 20° weather with the windows cracked and my heater on; and nice cold/hot breeze to the face... but that is just me

YES!! In Cali. this time of year... Drop the top, blast the heater = cool outside weather & cooler engine with the heater full blast... SRT becomes a ROCKET

...of course there are probably a few people who think I'm nuts driving with the top down - but who is wearing the bigger smile?
