what tires on the crossfire produce the smoothest ride, I will need to buy a set and want to improve the ride???????????

 

Marky: I am somewhat in the same predicament and comparing all the brands. The conti's have less then 20,000 mile's but I am informed that no matter what brand or type the best I will see is 25,000.
Given that pehaps it's better to think cheap with a softer compound for more grip and better ride. The Kumho, Cooper and of the Michelins are top of my narrow list. Sticker shock on the rear Michelins and knowing I 'd to do this again in the next year is a killer. Good luck there! in your shopping.
Remember softer better ride and traction, harder compound longevity except with 35 series tires

I am starting to shop for tires also. I would like responses on the Generals, the Tire Rack seems to like them, and the price is right, and they look cool.

For some reason I have worn out my rear tires quicker than the front and have 24,800mi on them. How has people's experience been with the Costco tires?

 

Falken FK 452's. I bought them for this trait. They are quite popular with the Audi and BMW folks and were designed for sport luxury type vehicles. Inexpensive too. A number of folks have been putting them on.

Just my recommendation, you understand.

 

i have the cooper zeon. They grip the road like glue. The problem is they are very loud.

 

I replaced the Conti Touring that were on the car when I bought it with Goodyear F1-Gs's - Have found them to be good tires, grip very well in rain, I don't hear them at all, in warmer weather they grip like superglue - I don't think they ride hard, Softer than the Conti's in my opinion. Only draw backs the I fell are they are pricey, and when the temp gets below 40 you can spin them like crazy until they warm up.

I will probly get another set of cheaper tires to get thru next winter with.

I would get the Goodyear F1's again!

 

has anyone heard of the michelin pilot sport all season plus? It looks like the michelin pilot sport allseason but with longer tread life it has a 70,000 km warranty for treadwear. Sounds pretty good, and makes the expense worth while.

 

I replaced my Conti's with Generals, with only 13K the Conti's were noisy &
down to almost the wear bars, Front still very good. I have about 1K on the Generals & really
like them. For under $700. installed.

 

My car as others came with Continentals which I have had on other cars and do not like. I switched to Pirrelli's and liked the way they handled. The rear tires needed replacing at 22K miles so I bought Michelins. The front are still ok and am considering another set of Pirelli's so it will continue to be crossbred. Front for handling and rear for stability.

I just put Eagle F-1 all seasons on the back for 259 each - installed. I went to a local Goodyear dealer, who was less expensive than the lowest online prices that I found. While researching, I compared the price of the tires + shipping + installation, and they were astronomically more costly to purchase online. So far, so good with the Eagles. I have driven them in light snow, rain, and of course dry conditions, with virtually no slippage.

 

BFG G-force, grip like a fat kid holdin a spoon. Wear like crap, and noisy as all get out... I got Michellin pilot sport a/s they grip good and arent near as loud as the BFG's

 

If anyone tries these I'd be interested in hearing about the wear. Most folks I've talked to say around 20-25K they need to replace regardless of the brand. A few "light" drivers have made it just past 30K but I've found this to be rare.

 

I just went thru this problem and settled on Cooper 2XS, primarily because they were cheaper, American made, and figured if Jack Roush put them on his Mustangs he was satified with them. Buying tires every 18-20,000 miles you have to be cost effective.
I have roughly 500 miles and I am totally impressed with the ride and handling not to mention the noise level.

Our Michelins are quiet and sticky. Wearing well too. Car is a daily driver driven by my wife, so no hard cornering or burnouts.25000 miles and plenty left.

 

I would consider installing Hankook tires on my 07 Coupe when the time arises. I've had good luck with Hankook tires on other vehicles and they've just come out with a tire design (Ventus V12evo) that matches up well with the XFire.
