Default Wind diffuser

I just bought a 05 roadster yesterday. It didn't come with a wind diffuser. I called the local dealer and he said they make one for $185. Does it work?

The Chrysler one is OK. Have you considered a mesh screen? It works great and looks cool too.

Check my post of 02/10/09.

You can make a nice one (actually, better than store-bought) for about $20. An afternoon with a jigsaw and you're in business.

Good luck. PM, if questions.

Adrian, I reposted it for you.

Try Windrestrictor.com for one you can have made to order and be able to light it at night. Check my gallory, if you like.

I got one from WR as well that is lit up. You can get a custom module to make it act like a 3rd break light.

I think the question was "does the Chrysler one work?". I have one and I don't think it works well. Both driver and passanger will get blown around. Does cut down on wind in the cabin but not much on your head.

The full mesh design in the 2nd response would be my choice. The others look like they work just like Chryslers windscreen except you get nice pics, at a price.

My two cents worth...

Is it just me, or do you lose a bit of rear travel with that mesh one?

Max, if you are referring to the losing some leg room, no you don't. Believe me, I'm 6'-1" and need the seat all the way back. Here's a shot of how it attaches. As you can see, it is in line with the back wall behind the seat so it does not restrict the seat from going all the way back.

I had to ask! I have a friend (believe it or not) that has that on her Z4, and I think it is the nicest way to go. I'm just too darned cheap...

HAHAHA! Don't tell me you're cheap. You have the some of the best looking non-SRT-6 wheels on the planet.

Well, thank you very much! I appreciate that. However, I must confess that I got the set for ~ $860 delivered. A darned good price considering what some cost! And they're the same weight as OEM, even going up a size!

I have the OEM screen and agree that it probably doesn't drop the complete hair blow around, but it really made a big difference in noise and wind overall - below 50 (which is hard to do) it does a good job I think - and at higher speeds I guess I wasn't really paying attention!

I've got the Wind restrictor that lights and I am very pleased with the result. One thing I'm thinking about is adding a pot to the line so I can adjust the light at night. When it's dark out the light can be a little distracting. It's all in the way you hook up the lighting.
If you want a restrictor that really turns heads you may want to look at one of the WRs. You can order custom messages and choose the color of the backlight.

I just ordered this one off of ebay after reading reviews on what type works best. It covers the span of both rollbars and uses straps attached to the rollbars to hold it in place for easier installation/removal. If anyone has this one let me know how you like it!
