Thumbs up Windscreen - wow!

So the dealership put a windscreen, gratis, on my baby - to help ease some pain with all the recent visits - and wow, what a difference. I wasn't really expecting it to have much impact. Imagine my surprise when I accelerated out onto the highway and wasn't beat half to death with my own hair, lol.

Although I have to admit that I probably won't be giving folks near the same chuckles now. I'm only 5'2" so I have the seat all the way up just to reach the pedals and I have this crazy red hair that Ronald McDonald himself would be proud of. I just figured it must look pretty hilarious when I drive by people - top down, hauling booty, only thing visible over the steering wheel is an angry red cloud, lol. Not near as funny looking now, thanks to the screen. Well, until I stop, that is. Long live convertible hair!

My hair goes down to my mid back (well, my bra strap actually). Though I'll take the top down for any sunny day I can, that backwash of the wind kept getting to me. Suffice to say, I'd do it only when the state of my hair didn't matter upon arrival. I purchased a crossfire windscreen / wind deflector (from Windblox) some time ago, and it's been my choice. It was either get a windscreen, or get a boy's hair cut, and I wasn't about to do that! Another thing I make sure to do is to lather on the sun block, because I'm too cute to get wrinkles!

DenverCrossfire: Does the Windblox really stay secure with just those velco straps? No vibration or rattling?

Thanks for the laughs Bat! My desicion to buy a windscreen was made the day my hair (in a ponytail) came around and whipped me right in the eyeball (yes I was wearing sunglasses). It took everything I had not to drive off the side of the bridge I was on (doing 80mph) and drive my baby home with only one working eyeball. I also wondered what the people around me thought when my long, brunette hair was flailing all over the place.

Happy driving!

Well, I can only talk from my experience, but a couple of times, I've made sustained 15 minute runs around 80 MPH with the windscreen mounted on my car, no problems - the straps held everything tight. One other time, I did sprinted up close to a hundred, and everything was secure. Just don't tell the police!

Don't worry, we were at the track that day with you in Pueblo Motorsports when you hit 100+ mph.
