Get yourself into a boating supply shop and pick up some M71 Canvas Cleaner and M72 Canvas Protectant. It helps to mask off the surrounding paint and glass before spraying the M72 and you want to do it on a clean, dry top but it will bead water like crazy and protect the top from UV, etc.
