General Exclaims!
Ok so I went to discount tires and got a quote for 840 for all four. . . this sound about right? Also, has everyone had pretty good luck with these??? I am also looking at the Eagle F1s all the way around. . . .
Just got a quote for the same rubber (w/o road hazard) from Tirerack - $605.09 delivered UPS to my dealership. They'll mount and high-speed balance the lot for $100. Road hazard would add about $67, so your quote is reasonable if you're also paying sales taxes.
All of the reviews sound great. I'll probably go with them. Sure beats $1,350 for Conti's. Beware, the Generals are a summer tire with softer sidewalls for a smoother ride; not for racing by any measure. Do the Goodyear's if you have a spirited driving habit.
Another member offered a thought ... up-size the tires to 275/35R19 and 235/40R18 for a chubbier look. The Generals do not come in the 275/35 rear tire size, tho, but most other makes do. Sorry.
Good luck.

Dwight is right about the cost sounding reasonable. I got em on my car from Tire Rack and according to them they are a three season tire, shark067 keeps telling me he doesn't understand why not a four season; I personally park in in the garage with snow and ice or when the temps are below 40.
I'm not a racer, but found them to do very well on the curves at Tail Of The Dragon this spring. I've only got about 4k on them, so I can't tell you about longevity.

For what it is worth. I did the Eagle F1's about 3,000 miles ago. I can't say I notice much of a difference from the Conti's. Not that I am unhappy,
it's just that the backend swings out if I goose it in a turn, just like the Conti's.
They are quite and have a agressive tread pattern. I don't remember if the
ride is any different, it's been stored for most of the winter.

I talked with the rep today, and I think we're only talking about 0.6 inches wider and 0.3 inches taller than the OME's.
I'm comfortable, but call the rep and talk about it. If you're looking for that 'look', sure beats fooling with wheel spacers.
OOPS, this is for CajunXFire.
