needed a new siren...got 2 new horns?
I brought my chrysler crossfire in to my dealer for a new panic alarm siren, mine has a massive short in it. instead what i got was two brand new horns installed. they had orderred the "horn" thinking that like other cars, the horn is the alarm, but no, you need to be specific and let people know exactly what you mean, thus i am now waiting another week, for my "siren", while there it appears there may be a short in my crossfire key remote...anyone know anything about this, and why are there two horns?
Two horns;
One high note
One low note
Very common way to get a bigger sound out of the horns
The alarm system is intertwined with just about every electrical part of the car!
Do a search of the forum, many threads related.
Good luck.

This is why more and more emergency vehicles have alternate high and low sirens. You know the direction of the sound source much quicker, this is very important if you hear a siren while you are inside your car. Next time you hear these sirens check it out by comparing the directional input you get from the two tones.
Thats what I heard anyway.
