Of painted calipers and under wing decals
Two different things but I didn't feel like making two different posts, so here it is in the Roadster section because that's what I drive.
I went a different route on my calipers - rather than painting them a loud color that shouts "hey, lookee here, I'm a caliper!!" I went with a semi-gloss black. And rather than a Mercedes decal I had a local shop make up some fairly standard Chrysler logo decals with a little curve to them. In silver, of course. Rear calipers were also painted but are decal free. Too bad the factory wheels have such wide spokes, but there you have it.

I used to have a Karmann decal under the rear wing but, well, since I work for Meguiar's I figured this was probably a bit more apropos.

So, there you have it. Just a couple of recent new touches to the Roadster.

Very nice Mike, I bet you could sell those caliper logo's. I did mine subtle too. I used Rustoleum Hammered Paint. Its a cross between gray and copper and it has a metallic look to it when it dries. SO far I've had no peel issues at all. I do them every year before Carlisle and the last coat had a real nice shine to it. I did my wife's car two years ago with the same paint and they look good as new after almost 15,000 miles.
Your's look great. Like that decal too. Subtle and nice. Now its time for a set of wheels.

Mike, I like those logos, too, and you might find a market for them. But....is that a spot of wax you missed wiping off on the front fender. :-)
Spot of wax, where? Down low in front of the wheel on the little groove? That's what we here at Meguiar's call a "reflection".

Mike-IN-Orange, I have an alabaster-white rdstr., what meguiars product should I use to make my paint "pop"?? I have used several waxes, polimers, polishes on my xfire. I don't notice a difference between them, except for the way water beads up. suggestions???

I recently did a full on, though very fast, rotary buff job on Justin's (AKA Z28toXfire) Alabaster coupe with the write up at Transforming a swirled mess of an Alabaster Crossfire

How exactly are the decals put on? Is it something you just stuck on after the fact, or did you paint, wait to dry, put on decal, and clear?
Thanks.

The local place I had mine done at uses some weird proprietary image editing software that takes .jpg images and turns them into some other form of vector art, but they couldn't take .eps files. Go figure.
Low key is in?!?
Damn, there goes the neon calipers I was planning.
Lookin good, as always, Mike. Makes me wish I had a pop-up wing so I could put something clever under there.
Maybe "Just Try And Catch Me"
or "Eat My Dust"
or even a NeedsWings sticker... too many choices!
