Just realized something...
Just did my nightly walk into the garage and around the car (yea, I do this every night).
Something just hit me:
I sure drive a kickass car!
Funny how it comes to me from time to time.
Anyway, I'm going to bed.

Every night I make sure the house is locked up. The last thing I do is look into the garage to make sure the doors are closed, every other night or so I have to go back and look a second time, because I realize I only looked at my car and never got around to looking at the darn doors.
Well even though I don't have a garage, I still go to the back door and open it and "check" on the car, lol is silly I know but I can't help it, want to make sure the cover is still in place and she is comfortable!!!
I'm glad it's not just me! I'm always doing a double take. Whenever I park my car anywhere, I turn around and just admire looking at her. Kind of like checking out the pretty women walking by us from time to time. Just can't help myself. Beauty is just something that I can't overlook!

I'm always looking back at my xfire when I'm walking away from her thinking to myself that is my baby. I too walk around her while she's sitting in the garage and admire every sexy curve on her body.
I'm always saying to my wife or daughter, hey did you see that awesome car. When they ask where, I just point to my baby and say right there. They just laugh, they don't quite understand the love us owners have for these cars.

I too am so guilty of that affliction I have with my car. My Cross, anybody else's and my interest level just goes thru the roof. fortunately my wife does understand how taken, I, as well as other owners are taken with this car. Like you, pizza, there are times that just hit me about being lucky enough to own this car.
I do this all the time. But the best is when I will take my sister somewhere I get out and sit on a bench and just look at my car. I love it when people walk by see me looking and say I bet you sure would like to have that. I just look at them and smile.

Just realized something else!
I drove the car to work in the afternoon last week. Left the company van home, but had to bring the Radar Calibrator with me that was in the van. So, I left the top up and folded the divider down, drove to work with the calibrator in the trunk.
But I kept thinking I had a window open or the trunk lid was not closed right - so much road noise!
On the way home, I did not put the top down, but I DID unfold the divider, as is my habit so I can "drop it" any time I want to.
It occured to me this morning that on the way home, the noise was gone. It also occured to me that this was the first and only time I have driven with the divider folded up.
I had no idea that thin piece of coated cardboard or plastic could stop so much noise!
It also occurs to me that I can't spell occured right.

Hey BoilerUpXfire,
I live in Peru, IN and loved the xfire since its debut in 2004 but at the time it didn't seem to be a very practical car for me to own. What was I thinking.
Of course in June of this year I was able to get a used '06 roadster for a third of the price of a new one.
I would be interested in going to some xfire events in the future. I have heard a lot of members talking about the Dragon but I haven't researched enough to know where it is located and when it is.

He's in the bathroom right now, so I'll answer for him!

Cruisin_in_my_xfire -
according to Mapquest, from Peru (Indiana, that is) to Fontana Dam it's only
8 hours 34 minutes / 489.75 miles
That's not too bad of a drive. We've got folks from Wisconsin driving down. Follow the link that pizzaguy shared with you and you will get all the info that you need+.

Thanks for the info guys. Not sure if I can make it this year. I'm already going to be in Florida from the 15th to the 20th of this month and I am bogged down enough at the office now. I won't be able to next year either because I'm going to be cruising on Royal Caribbeans newest ship Oasis of the Seas at the end of October in 2010. Already have it booked.
If I'm not cruisin in my xfire then I'm cruisin in the caribbean.

I can't do much of anything between January and April 15th due to tax season. Working on extensions right now that are due October 15th. I just love procrastinators. Well gotta get back to work.
Had no idea when I bought mine, what an incredible car I was getting! Love to walk into the garage and remove the cover. What a sight!! And on top of that it is such a joy to drive, anwhere, anytime, any distance. Have had convertables all my life, but never one that turns so many heads.
We have a three car garage at home but only the double bay has a garage door opener (yeah, yeah, I've been meaning to remedy this but I never seem to have the time). The Crossfire sits in the single bay because it's my toy and doesn't get driven all the time. Still, there are weeks when I'll drive it a couple of times so it swaps places with my daily driver, but I'll still drive my wife's car most days that week (she works from home so doesn't drive all that often).
Anyway, when I come home in the wife's car and hit the button to open the garage door, I love the look as the rear end of the Crossfire is revealed by the opening door. Especially with the Magnaflow exhaust tips and the rear diffusors in place, but mostly just the look of the rear end of this little beauty. It helps too that the driveway slopes up a bit so I'm seeing from a nice, low angle.
Damn fine looking cars these Crossfires.

It'll be here in a few days... just gotta paint it red and give the doll to the dog as a chew toy.
Got if off Amazon for around $15. Could not find any Roadster models out there at ANY price.
