Default Help Needed...

After seeing all the roadsters down at TMS, we are thinking of getting one to go with our coupe. Other than the obvious stuff, is there anything to look for on the roadster. She's an '05 with about 37,000 miles on her. She looks clean on the web shots, but you know how that goes. Any info would help. we are driving to MO. in the morning to go look at her.
Thanks in advance, Smfrycruzr

There has been some discussion about the rear window coming out. I would check to make sure that it looks solid. I would also check to make sure the top goes up and down without issue. Other than that, I would look for the same things that you would look for on a coupe (heated seat, etc.).

Oh, and if you do get one, you will have extra perma-grin compared to what you already have.

Make sure the rear window seal is good, The side windows fit well into the top, the top should go up and down smoothly, the back of the top should latch into the tonneau cover easily, make sure at speed that the car feels tight.

Those are the only roadster-specific issues I can think of...Good luck, Terry! I hope it works out for you. There is nothing like driving a Crossfire roadster!

There is a door in the trunk that allows more room in the trunk when the top is up. While I have never seen anyone have problems with it, the salesman told me that if it doesn't make a good connection, the top won't go down. I would open and close it a few times to make sure it is operating properly.

I would say there is nothing like driving a Crossfire SRT-6 roadster.

First thing I noticed when in the roadster was the higher level of noise (top up vs coupe). This is a big DUH but it was the first thing I noticed.
I drove the first leg back with the top up so I could hear if anything was wrong. After that it's been top down ever since!

ENJOY!

And then getting into your Crossfire SRT coupe and driving it! "

Just check the rear window pretty close...it's prone to pulling apart from the top. Other then that...go for it !! You'll have the typical "wind flap" after all it's a ROADSTER. I have 2005 and just superly LOVE my car! There's other "A" typical issues as with any car...but the one that stands out the most is the rear window. It's glass, heavy, and in worm areas where you may reside it may be of some consern. I'm in Alabama, don't think things could get much wormer !! I got 62,000 miles on mine and is a daily driver. Not a single issue ......yet ( there's that word .YET. )...

Go for it..get it enjoy it ride TOPLESS for a change ! You got a heater, never mind the weather being colder !

My windows rattle when you shut the door they are down. I think it's for the previous owner slamming the doors.

Two causes come to mind...there are plastic grommet that "smooth" the retract and extract of the window. They may have seen better days. Wore slap out............

Second cause it that the support arms ..the arms that raise and lower the window may be loose in some fashion. There's search area's on the forum that will show you the inside of the door components and you'll get an idea what you're looking at. It should jump right out at you what's wrong once you have the components exposed to your view.

I don't envy you. That's got to be nerve racking !!

Congratulations on your new addition, Terry and Diane! Now you have the dilemma of which one to take out for drives - I guess that means you will have to drive twice as much!

Congratulations Terry and Diane! Another Oklahoma Crossfire! We're growing.
So, will you bring both of them to the GTG's? If one, which one?
