my car this afternoon. I made arrangements with an interior shop to remove the top and ship it to GAHH..they then made a new top and shipped it back and it was installed this morning.

The cost for the top was around $1500.00..removing the top, shipping to and from California, reinstalling the top was around $700.00. Quite a bit of cost but worth it to me..good warranty with top as well.

Well, considering that you can't get a new top from Chrysler at all, its worth it if your current top is damaged.

Wasn't able to make the drive until today..the car is 50 miles away and had to make arrangements for work. Will photograph and attempt to post the results here this afternoon.

Btw. because my crossfire is black, I stayed with the black top.

 

They now make aftermarket tops for the crossfire.

 

Who is "They"?

 

"They" is a company named Gahh. Look a couple posts up for a link to their website.
"They" have been making replacement convertible tops for other cars for quite a long time.
"They" have been offering a quality product for the Porsche crowd for a long time, and are a very respectable company.

"They" will be the ones I would steer anyone towards to replace their convertible top if it needs replacing.

cajuncrossfire the only problem I see with the company you are using is they say the rear glass is 2" smaller than oem. I know a guy with a roadster and his top looks really faded and messed up. Maybe I will direct him to this company.

 

The back glass is smaller..but I'm impressed by the quality of the work done. I had to change the top and this company seemed like the best choice. You want to remind your friend that he has to send the whole old top in to GAHH because there are certain parts of the top that are unavailable (thanks Chrysler) and those pieces must be cannibalized from the old top.

The fabric on the top is of outstanding quality..also, get a good interior shop to do the removal and installation, it's not something an amateur should try..especially with the scarcity of parts.
