Soft top vandalized
Long story short, someone sliced up my soft top on my 05 yellow crossfire in order to get in and fail to find anything valuable in the glovebox
. Insurance will cover it, but I know softtops are not in stock anymore. I am also aware that GAHH makes a soft top for our cars.
Has anyone got a new top from GAHH? How did you like it?
Any pointers from experienced members? Is there anything I need to watch for?

I have been seraching for a top myself...try www.theconvertibletopguys.com . the offer tops with 5 year warranty where the GAHH I belive only gives you a 2 year warranty...let me know your experience once you do it.
I just got a replacement top from GAHH..it looks great! Tight, no air leakage at high speeds..don't ask how fast, I'm embarassed to admit that I did that. The rear window is 2" smaller than stock, but visibility is ok, as you couldn't see out of the oem window, anyway.
I'm sure a lot depends on who installs the top, GAHH has licensed installers that may be more familiar than most with installation of a soft top.
There is a used top for sale on ebay, btw.

Our local fabric shop sent our hardware out to GAHH and we had the new top back and installed on the 8th day. Everything matches just fine; the material quality is excellent and the same as MB weight.
The rear window size is that of the Nissan 350Z. Since our XF is the wife's daily driver I was concerned as to how the less window space would affect her view. Actually, she adjusted quickly to the slight difference.
Let's hope the perpetrator doesn't try it again.

Thanks guys. The car is at a local upholstery shop and they're looking for any dealer stock before they get to aftermarket ones. By the way, I spoke with GAHH yesterday, and they said they now have a new top for crossfire with the original window size. They said the picture on their website is not updated yet.
Are there any precautions I can take against this happening again? I never leave valuable stuff in sight, but it looks like these a-holes got in anyways just to check if there is anything valuable in the glovebox. I wonder if I should just leave the windows down!

Don't park in dark areas and garage it at night.
I'm all for the death penalty for XF abuse. Not much you can do if a moron thinks you have valuables in your car. Leaving it unlocked is an invitation to general vandalism or someone trying to rip your radio out. The best and only precaution is to park it where these is traffic and lights.
When I traveled with mine, I would park it in the front of hotels (away from other cars) but where there was a lot of light. As a matter of fact, the Doubletree-Dearborn used to let me park under their carport in the spot where their security car parked since I was a frequent guest for 3 years. As a matter of fact, it got to the point that I would pull in behind the security car and they would pull out to give me the whole space.
I also avoid restaurants and bars...I mean sports establishments...where I cannot see the XF from a window. There are a lot of places I just won't take it.
Anyway, condolences to you for the damage. At least it should be easily repairable.

You may think I'm nuts, but I never lock my car. I've had convertibles for 40+ years, and I've never locked any of them. I'd rather have them open the door and rifle the car, or even steal it, rather than cut my top to do the same thing.
I remember seeing a homeless guy snoozing in the back seat of a convertible. Yuck. Let's hope it was his car! Has anyone taken theirs to Yosemite or somewhere there are bears? Anyway, good luck with the new top. some people are just mean.
