Driving in the Snow - How much weight in the trunk?
I was in Chicago last winter, and New Jersey this winter. I run snow tires in the rear and have 100lbs of sand in that trunk... Haven't had any issues this year, and had zero issues last year.
I drive mine every day, except if there is a chance of hail.

I use 140 pounds of "sand in a tube" in the trunk of my roadster. I also have Goodyear F1 A/S tires which made a HUGE difference in the snow.
Using that combination I went through snow deep enough that I made a perfect impression of the bottom of the car last year.

Blizzak LM-60's all the way around. No weight in the trunk. Runs fine. It's a coupe. The rear end does want to kick out to the right going around curves, but not so much that it effects handling. Just ease off the gas a little and she comes right back in line. The electronic nanny kicks in a little. Don't turn it off unless you're stuck. All in all, better handling than I expected, considering the short wheelbase.
Three tubes of sand and a good set of Nokian winter tires will get you just about anywhere but up a slippery hill. There is just no hope for that with this car unless you have lots of forward momentum working for you. LOL
Still driving around on the original Contis with just over 40,000 miles on them, nothing in the trunk and not having a problem here in Long Island with snow although the ABS gets a good workout when I'm on ice.
Dunlop Winter Sports on the '04 & about 200 lbs. of rock.
In boxes.....not just lying around loose back there!
I cut & polish rock for a hobby so there's always plenty lying around the basement.
I try not to drive the SRT if snow is anywhere within 200 miles of WI.

I put on my EDGE SEL AWD always goes no junk in the trunk My 6 dont know no snow
and here lately all we got is snow here in East TN.
Don't know about the weight but if you are driving a manual try starting out in second, always works a lot better for me.

Holy cow! How have you managed to get over 40K on your original Conti's???
I barely got over 20K and my fronts were bald!
I've got to learn how to drive sensibly... but it's just so darn fun to drive this car hard.
Not meaning to hijack this thread, but I figure I should get at least another 10k to 15k on the tires. They're working out great for me.
I got barely over 11,000 on my Michelins and I don't drive aggressively. I think the guy who brought my car down from PA when I got it had a lot of fun on the way down. My front tires still have about half left on them but the back ones went real fast.

I just had General Exclaim UHP's put on... hope I can some decent time out of them.
On my car it says the useful load is only 415 lbs. A couple 200 pounders in the seats leaves only 15 lbs for the trunk! I wonder if Chrysler figured the weight of fuel into the useful load weight or not. Full fuel weighs 94.8 lbs
