Angry Both of our crossfire wrecked this month!

Both of our crossfire were recked this month Allen's roadster ran away from home by way of a mountain. It rolled away from our drive way down the side of the mt.into trees. All Allen told me was that it had a mind of it own and ran off..But really he was working on it and it was not in park .Allen was driving my coupe when he ran over a boulder he did not see.Messed up the front end. Here is Allen's car.Look in my gallery the pictures look worse.I could not get large on here.

Very sorry to here this Thankfully it sounds like no one was hurt. I hate to see another red one injured. Good luck on getting them fixed.

I don't know what to say-I'd be more of a broken man than I already am.

Hope it comes out OK in the end.

Keep a stiff upper lip!

just rolled off reminds me when my wife and I were first dating and she drove my el cheapo car somewhere, when she got back she left the parking brake off and that night it rolled across the neighbors yard down a small hill and parked itself beside the road in a bad curve with no damage at all.

I woke up the next day wondering how bad off someone must have been to steal my car, they really must have needed it only to have the neighbor wonder over wondering when I was going to get my peice of crap out of their yard

sorry to hear that your cars got damaged

Good idea but I do not think the dents will buff out.

I have 2 dents in my passenger door. I see ONLY them when I look at the car now.
I took it to have an estimate and he said that he can fix it, but by painting the door it will be a different shade than the rest of the car because of fading and he would have to paint that whole half of the car. I estimated around $1000. Awesome.

Sorry to hear! I feel your pain!

All I can say is I'm glad you two are alright. I'm sure they'll get em both tip top shape soon and you'll be out enjoying the sunshine in no time.

Take care and have a Happy Easter.

HowardJ

I have a 2005 Blaze Red and that is a difficult color to match. First, see if a dentless place can repair the dents. I just had my passenger door painted and they blended the color into the front fender. There is absolutely no color distortion. Other then using a paint gauge you would not know it was repainted. Sounds like the guy was making excuses for a sloopy paint job. I'd go someplace else. Total remove and replace labor to do this job is 3.3 hours ($165) and $100 for paint and clear coat plus labor for painting was $170. This should help you evaluate estimates. Total cost was $435.

Don't let them tell you it will be a different color and will not match. Mine is a perfect match. My paint was NOT in great shape. The car was not treated with tender loving care in its past life. But starting to look like a new car now.

I wonder how many Crossfires have been totaled since 2004. I would assume at least 10% of total production (no pun intended). With such a limited production number to begin with, it kind of makes you wonder how many are left with clear tiltles (not salvage).

Glad that you got it taken care of and everything is fixed. Take care and get yours all spiffed up Joanna! Not fair to let Allen have all the fun by himself.

My bodyshop guy said,, because I was whining about resale value after my 2 accidents, that if you have the receipt showing your car was repaired by a certified bodyshop, it is illegal to ding you for the accident(s). I'm glad I wasn't forced to buy a new or different car.

Took mine up to the redwoods again this weekend & saw 1 silver coupe early on (Hwy 101 near the Geyserville exit), none after that. Was pounced upon before I even got out at a McDonald's by an older (than me) lady who said, "What is that? I want that." She was looking for a daily drivier instead of her SUV. Then, same parking lot, homeless guy said, "That's a nice car!" 2 people said it looked fast even when it wasn't moving.

Got out of my roadster last friday evening in front of my daughter's house. The local dentist happened to be in his backyard and came toward me. "Sir, does that car drive as good as it looks? What kind of car is that? After telling him a little about it, he offered: "That is one beautiful car!"
