So, does the lever move but the indicator stays in Park?

Or will the lever not move at all?

The indicator nor the lever moves I also have a radar detector that is wired into the drivers window post and I don't recall the circuit but that doesn't work either so thats what makes me think it's definitely electrical.

Call me if you like as I'm in CA at 760 666-2687 or reply here.

Thanks, Dave Woolrage _/)***

Yes, that did it! Now I need to figure out what electrical circuit is bad. There is a set of wires that go down the drivers side windshield post and that is where I got the power for my radar detector circuit that doesn't work also so I will look in the panel at the left of the dash to see if any of those fuses are blown.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE INFO SIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

Check fuse #7 in the fuse box under the hood. It's a 5 amp beige fuse.

Red face Re: Stuck in "Park"

All the fuses under the hood and in the access door at the left end of the dash are good but I still have no power to my radar detector so I need to ring that out to it's source somehow.

Out of gear though and thanks a million for the heads up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you hard wired the radar did the wire for it have a in-line fuse? Most of them do.

No it didn't have an in line fuse and I'm not sure what circuit it's in as I got the info from a radar detector site and forgot to keep the info-dumb me!

Glad the tool worked. It is a life saver for other things -- towing, roadster top, etc. Just curious is this the first time you had the problem and was the radar detector a new addition and that is why you are guessing it to be electrical?

Just Google the words Chrysler Stuck in Park. You'll find that the 300C and to a lesser extent the Dodge Charger has this.

I just did myself with my 2004 Crossfire. Started to have the trouble last night but it eventually let me shift out of park. The car runs fine and no electrical problems.

Tonight I needed a tow home from work as the shift lever would not budge!

The tow truck driver told me about all the Chrysler's he's had to tow recently with this same issue.

I think a recall is in order!

You might want to check the brake switch and solenoid that allows the car to be shifted into gear after pressing the brake pedal.

You found a thread nearly two years old, it has been answered again since then.

Tow truck drivers only get to meet people with problems. LOL
