I am so in love ...
So, I took possession of my 2008 Crossfire Roadster Ltd. on Wed. ........... now I know what I have been missing my whole life.
Don't get me wrong, I love the other half and I love how he looks behind the wheel, but when I take her (of course it is a girl) by myself what a rush.
When other people drive past you with their convertible tops down, there is a nod, special smile as if only you both know the feeling. Does not happen when you drive past people with their tops up and windows closed.
I have had so many people ask me what the car is as they have never seen one before and they love her. It is making my time getting around difficult, but I show them the inside and explain all about her.
CROSSFIRE LOVE ............. what more can I say!!!!!!!!!!!
Moonbeamromance .......... gotta love the romance in the moonlight

Yes,
It is a different car, no doubt. I have owned a Bremen Mini Mark Kit Car, 66 Mustang (restored), 67 Mustang, 66 Dodge Coronet (hot rod), 56 Ford Pick up(hot rod), 53 Chevy Pick-up , 69 Roadrunner, 72 and 78 Vette's original. I have turned more heads and had more conversations about my 2005 Aero blue roadster limited then all the rest and I have only owned it five weeks. I am now looking for a SRT-6 roadster to enjoy. The forum has proven to be a great informational encyclopedia not to mention great people with whom to correspond.

Moon, I know exactly how you feel. Have had mine one week. Came home from work this week, put the top down, and drove a 20 mile trip through the Flinthills of Kansas through winding turns. I came out of one turn and just started laughing....this is what driving is all about.
Before the trip started, I pulled off side of road and lowered top. Fella, in a pick up, pulled along side and stopped. "Who makes that car?" After a little conversation, the fella said: "Man, that's one sweet ride."
Congrats on the car!!! You will love it more & more as time goes on. Now you need to go to a XF meet.
I have to say that the title of your post scared me - I thought me might have another pizzaguy on our hands!

Erzer - It is kind of, except we are all in love with a member from the same family...so we're all brother and sister-in-laws

Welcome Moonbeamromance, I wish the two of you a long and happy relationship with as many curves and twists as you have straightaways (just for you Kim).
Depending on where you live, consider joining us at the first CAA where you can meet a number of people from across the US and Canada.
COUNTDOWN CLOCK
me too and so is my better half, we love these cars. It's a shame they won't be made anymore. With that beefed up slk suspension and with a body syle that's very special indeed. I still have an old 129 300sl and a 98 slk, all black of course that I love. but about 6 months ago a friend of ours wanted to buy my wife's 05 Chrysler 300 and at the same time I spotted a black base model at a local dealer. I sent the ol' lady down to check it out cause it was only $11,000. She comes back and said it only had 17,000 miles on her. After doing the research that night on where the car was made and my love for mercedes, we sold our 300 and got the base model. There are such great deals out there on these wonderful cars. I wish I had the money and a place to keep them I'd buy more just have them. The first thing I did was wire in some oem fog lights using my alldata schematics for my slk. Same illumination module. and then I installed a synthetic carbon fiber dash kit for at least that not so great center console. I really like the improvement. It's a shame they have to cut corners on the interior, same as the early slk. a dask kit is a big help, I put one in my slk too after stripping the dash parts of that awful spray on vinyl they used. we really like the manual transmission sometimes, but other times an auto is nice. well, a week ago, I was snooping on cars.com and found a black limited roadster that had a cedar/charcoal interior with 20k on her, with an automatic, for $16,500. carfax was good so we put a down to hold her until we could drive there 700 miles away and take a look and luckily it turned out to be a very nice rig, only minor issues. But that automatic is just great. Best automatic I have ever seen or used. my wife and I had a blast and yes we were bad too. On the way back we traded back & forth between that sweet Xfire and the slk out in the middle of nowhere on the back roads of Utah and Nevada. That is what it's all about. What a blessing. We're hooked for sure. Thank you Daimler!
