Default Bugs and Stuff

Knowing I'm going to sound like an idiot, I'll go ahead and ask any way.

Just got my 2007 Roadster limited. I clean it up real nice, take it for a drive and come back with some bugs splattered across the front. I don't want to turn the power washer on and get the rest of the car wet. What's the best way to get rid of the mess without messing up the finish and without going full wash?

Detail Spray.
Let it set for 5 minutes or so, respray, and wipe it clean.

Cool Re: Bugs and Stuff

What everyone else said...make sure to let it sit on for awhile.

Since the front end is all plastic, wiping on Armor-All reduces the bugs ability to stick and makes them easier to wash off. Best option IMHO---a bra.

The best way to remove bugs is a wet fabric softener sheet . Bugs will wipe off easily.

Like the other guys said , detailing spray and be sure to use a good micro fiber towel not just any cloth towel.

I keep a wet micro fiber towel in a plastic bag in the car at all times. A quick wipe at the end of any run cleans the bugs right off. Then a shot of detail spray when I get home.

How about some good old fashion wax. Or Rejex. Then just wipe the bugs off. And put another coat of wax on!

Fella at the NAPA store suggested same thing.

Used the Detail spray this evening and it really worked well. Thanks for the tip.

Question:

Dual exhaust outlets are tarnished. Is there anything I could use to brighten them up again or is it too late?

Well, it might be plastic but it is covered in paint. Armor All and other water based dressings are designed for use on plastic, vinyl and rubber, not paint. It won't hurt anything, but you aren't applying the product to plastic, per se.

Is this a brand or just a type of spray?

It's a type of spray. There were several different brands in the local auto store.

Splattered bug guts if left on for too long, can't be very good for today's water based paints.
