1. Price of OEM parts and lack of availability from the dealer
2. Lack of aftermarket OEM parts, no aftermarket companies are manufacturing body parts for our cars.
3. Lack of used parts. Not many dismatling yards other than LKQ seem to have any crossfires that they are parting out.
Your exactly right, a new door is estimated at $1,540, quarter panel $1,165, crossmember $905, new wheel $602. These parts dont come cheap and its very hard to find used parts, but not impossible, I already found most the parts needed.

Its a great deal i think, keep the car for a 3 grand cut? Sounds good to me. I can fix her up for a good price, keep it with a salvage, or auction it off for a profit.

I would recommend to use a broker, when you win the auction they will charge you $150 if you pay reg fee and $250 if you don't pay it. Think it's absolutely real to win it for around $5000-$8000. You may watch live sale on www.easyexport.us to see how much they used to go for. As for brokers I know guys who bought from www.easyexport.us www.carfrom.us www.vehbidz.com

I'd be more than happy with what you've been offered. Most often mod's don't add any value, and if anything subtract value to a prospective buyer that doesn't want them.

I didn't pay much more than what you are being offered for my 08, and I bought it brand new with 36 miles on it this past January.

602 for a wheel? I was in an accident, and mine was cracked. I was only charged 250 for a new wheel.

I wouldnt go to the dealer for an estimate, they are high (3k more than where i ended up going) plus they dont know jack about the cars.

Find out where a lamborghini or bentley certified bodyshop is. We have one local called Magnum Collision. They do great work, cut no corners, and are always in it to please the customer, not cut corners to save money
