Default Thoughts on a few vehicles

Im about to trade in the XF roadster. Looking at a 2010 WRX STI, 2010 EVO and a 2010 Camaro SS. All solid rides just wondering what everybodys take is on them.

I had an EVO VIII before the Crossfire. Amazing car, blisteringly quick and geat fun to drive. Reliability was good but the running costs are huge. The service interval on mine was 4500 miles but I believe the EVO X has been extended to 9000 miles.

These eat tires for breakfast and return 18mpg. If you can live with the high running costs and cheap interiors then they are a fantastic car. Mine got totalled causing a driving conviction on my license. I then decided to have a more affordable car as I use mine daily regardless of weather and season. I now enjoy cheaper motoring and luxury vacations.

...my personal opinion is as follows...

2010 WRX STI: solid car, great for autocrossing and great for cold winters due to the all wheel drive, etc.

2010 EVO X: another solid car for sure, can be had in AWD as well.

2010 Camaro SS: while this does carry the SS moniker on it, even with the extra power I think it is still a bit too heavy and labored in the turns.

That having been said... I would personally choose a STI (in white), because they are less seen on the road and have an incredible following online and in real life. They do however, blend in a good bit with the non-STI WRXes. The EVO X would be my second choice as it stands out from the rest of the Lancer crowd like the SRT6 does from the N/A. Camaro would be my last choice, other than the SS badging and a more throaty exhaust note they pas as V6 models...that and they are everywhere...and personally if I were to move on from the crossfire, it would be nice to own something that I wouldn't necessarily run into everyday.

I'm sorry I'm almost 60 and I still can't get my brain around 4 door sports car/muscle cars, I just don't get it? What are you gonna do take the family out and ............ well you know?
CAMARO is your only option or maybe a new Mustang GT. I hear there is one with 435hp that is in the same price range as the SS Camaro. My inkling is these will be the last of the muscle cars so grab one while you still can.
By the way Bazzer is right the EVO is expensive to own, my son's buddy has one. There also a kid with a WRX in the building here and that car did not wear well, of course he beats the crap out of it.

Go for the Subie. From what I've read it's not as fast as the EVO but it's a lot more civilized.

If I were to get another sporty car I would definitely go with the Subie. My mom had 167K miles on it and she said she never had a problem, awesome ride and AWD for the winter kicks butt. I love the looks of the STi's better too.

Don't do it! You will regret the move to a four door ricer (Bubaru). The Camaros are a dime-a-dozen.

THe wife wants kids I think a four door with a car seat in the back is more feasible than a 2 door for a guy who is 6'2

Very true. IMHO I just cannot stand the WRX. The kids around here like to mess with the mufflers and they sound like an old VW Bug that is about to die.

Well Im trying to stay around the 30,000 range. And the STI SE is pretty solid for the price. Ima tweak it a little but Im getting a 70 Chevelle SS thats getting my full attention in about 6 months.

The best of the three you mention, IMHO.

You're paying for the "look", and that's about it on this one.

Other alternatives - 370Z, which is very very good. C6 'vette - nuff said. Porsche Cayman (very unassuming at high speeds).

I would get the 2010 STI....prefefbly white / gold rims. I traded in a 06 Subie and the AWD was very nice. It was the base model but the lack of power felt good via AWD. THere is a white one @ Carmax...(actually 7 STI's) 4 Evo's go check them out.

Yea I was looking on Carmax at those. I got a black STI and a red STI at the subie dealership here in fayetteville. Both are used but im trying to work the manager to get this STI SE. Did you buy your subie new SilverSaphRT6. Im contemplating buying the black one its a 09 with 8K on it the dealer wants 34 for it but im sure i can chip some off of that price.

I bought it used in 08 with 7K on clock. It pulled great to have low hp so I can imagine the STI.
