Default clear side markers

Found clear side markers in Texas chrysler dealership. He told me that he had a few sets left he could get from his warehouse. Total price for two sets shipped 2nd. day to my house was $142.32, I thought that was a real good price. If interested call Jerry in the parts dept. at : 1-800-926-8254 Hope this helps

Here's a twist- I got these and the drivers side (left) is missing the metal spring clip/retaining clip. duh??
iceball's were missing too.
What yutz didn't do their job assembling the side markers on 4-28-10 @ Mopar in Germany
No other side markers in the U.S. currently but these assembled on 4-28-10.

The Gerry is at a loss, not parts they handle normally he is checking but no word yet.
I fashioned a pair of clips out of gutter clips, haven't installed yet, waiting on the dealer's findings.

Otherwise I'd have to rip them out of the OEM side markers that I'm removing which will trash them.
I want them usable in case I want to put them back.

You can use the clips off your origionals. Just use a small thin screwdriver to get them off. it will not wreck them. just taking the clip off

Am I missing something here ? Whats the logic of paying $142 to get clear side markers over the OEM side markers ?

Many people prefer the Euro looks of the clear markers over the red and yellow stock markers.

Tony : I like the clear side marker look over the oem look. Some people were having trouble finding these parts. That's why I posted the thread. I got lucky at the time to find someone who could get them. I understand now that chrysler has these in stock, I was told by a dealer. iceball

Ahhh now I get it. Wouldn't one assume that the reason the OEM markers are orange and red is that those colors are spec U.S. code ? Also the possibility exists one could be pulled over as a vioaltion of that code ? Nahhh, it would be worth it anyway !

I was recently pulled over for "enough" in a 40.

Got a warning and speed was written down as 50. She didn't utter one peep about the side markers.

I love mine, I get comments on them all the time, from a variety of drivers. They stick out past the bodyside, which draws attention to them. In a good way.

just bought them, from jerry. a great guy.

he was telling me he has over 200 and is trying to get rid of them and is selling them at cost..

i also spoke with him about the side boards that say xfire. the led ones, he would like to get rid of these, and is going to sell them at cost as well. if we are able to get 5 -10 people who would by them, he will sell them cheap.

thanks rvd

I'll take a set of illuminated door sill guards. I'll give him a call tomorrow.

Some of the Euro's seek the red and yellow side markers and some people living this side of the pond seek clear. It seems the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Go figure.

As long as the light bulb color meets NITSA requirements, you should be fine with local law enforcement. But just remember that if you were ever in an accident (like a T-bone) and you have a picky insurance company, they could deny the claim because your car wasn't in compliant with NITSA regulations...Just some food for thought.

PS, I also have a set of clear markers that I haven't installed yet because I'm contemplating if I really like them.

I spoke with Gerry this morning about purchasing Illuminated Sill Guards (part # 82208670AB) and I referenced the info. provided here in this thread. His price is $385 plus shipping. I asked him about a group buy price and he said he could do $375 plus shipping. Not a bad price, but not the best. moparsupercenter.com has them for $359.04 plus shipping, not sure of availabliity though. And yes, he has plenty of clear side markers available at the price posted in this thread.

Got them out! The trick was to push the clip (compress it) while prying it up using leverage via a small screw driver. These clips have two teeth biting into the plastic tab facing the same direction as the metal spring tab (which prevented me from sliding anything down to release them). New side markers installed thanks to James "how to" and my loving husband.

These are on the left/drivers side clear markers, the right had their clips.
