Default Brought the baby home!!!

Well, we did it!! Test drove the car most of the afternoon and it was perfect! Had the top down with 50 degrees, windows up and heater full blast with seat heat at 50%. i know.

The car is incredible. 14K miles. Blaze Red Pearl Roadster Limited Auto. Rear tires have 7/32 or so of tread and front tires have 8/32 or so. Original tires. Oil always changed with required Mobil1 0W-40. 1 owner.

Only thing wrong is the cigarette lighter is lost. I need to find either that or a black plastic cover for the power outlet.

100% stock with no aftermarket parts.

Funny, after purchase the service prompt came on at the milage indicator. The owner had no idea what it was, but I had a hunch so no concern there. I need to study the book to see how to reset. It's the two wrench icon so maybe I need a new transmission. Just kidding.

I would like to thank everyone that has helped me here and followed our quest for the ultimate Xfire. I believe we have found it. My God, only 14K, the car is not even broke in yet!

Well, off to the garage to tuck it in for the night.

BTW, the Ranger FX/4 is not happy being evicted from stall #2 in a two car garage.

We are happy campers and look forward to picking many brains here.

Two pics in my gallery, but you guys know what these look like

Congrats! Sounds like a heck of a ride! I bought a lighter cover at Auto-Zone or Advanced Auto from their 'Help' line of products. Fits perfect and has the 'no smoking' emblem on it. Looks great!
I did that because the first ride home in our XF, my wife said "whats this button do?" and pushed the lighter in. 10 seconds later the thing popped with the force of a ICBM. It landed on the seat behind my wife. There were a few panicky seconds trying to find that thing!

Ok if you are going to drive a roadster here is a tip. Windows stay down till under 32 degrees BUT heater is optional. Only kidding enjoy the ride. Don't poilish and wax it unless you have a heated garage above 60 degrees. Wait till spring and do the top first and of then clay bar it , polish and then wax. Don't forget to read how to winterize it on the forum.

I have had my top down while the temperature was in the '30s. Just roll up the windows, crank up the heat and turn on the heated seats. Enjoy the ride!

Congratulations and here is a little help resetting that FSS.....

RESETTING THE FSS MAINTENANCE INDICATOR

1 Move the ignition switch to the “RUN” position

2 Within 4 seconds of moving the ignition switch into the
“RUN” position, press the reset button for the trip odometer
twice within one second The display for the FSS service
request is activated for 10 seconds

3 During the 10 seconds the FSS service request is displayed,
move the ignition switch to the “OFF” position
The FSS service request will continue to be displayed

4 Press the reset button for the trip odometer and hold

5 Move the ignition switch to the “RUN” position

6 Continue to press and hold the reset button for the trip
odometer (about 10 seconds) until the audible signal
sounds and the new start distance appears in the display
The tool symbol should disappear at this time

Just read it thru several times before doing the reset It sounds more complicated than it really is

Congrats on the new ride. As to your missing lighter, how about a real light. We don't smoke and so I bought this little item and it stays charged all the time. You never know when you might need a flashlight.
Hope this helps, BTW if you still want a lighter, I've got two.

Wow thank you all very much for the kind words. Raining today so the xfire stays in the garage. First up for me is to get the coolant checked. Only 14K miles but the car is six years old. (purchased new 8/04). Hopefully no snow until I can get this done.

Our "new" 06 Red Baby is about 10 weeks old. Problem is when I have driven it it likes to go about 60 over the speed limit. Good thing I don't drive her car much or I'd get in trouble big time!!!!

Enjoy, we sure are.

I won't start a flame war on the best car color. I have never cared for blue and some of the powder blues the car makers use would be primer in my book but to each their own and if the owner likes it, then that's all that matters. Seems like all the used vehicles we have ever got were either white or black, nice to get a color that we like for a change. I do like the Crossfire white from all the pics I have seen and of course nothing is prettier than a clean black car and the hardest to keep pretty. What matters most is having fun and enjoying the cars!

Ours had 17K on it and the steering stabilizer needed replaced as does about 90% of them from what I have read here. Do yourself a favor and read up on the threads here on them and see if your car qualifies for a new one. You think it drives sweet now, wait till you spend $30 and 20 minutes to install one and then go drive it!! This forum is great.
