a spoiler question
I was looking at the manual that come with the car and I read that you should not drive the car with the spoiler not working. It says you can loose control of the car over 60. Is this some BS or what? I can't stop laughing about this. Has anyone lost control of there car due to this?
Chrysler penned that for pure liability purposes only.
I think the real threshold of concern to be spoiler-less is ~90.
I ran the car with the spoiler down and deactivated prior to the wing swap, and it definitely gets "twitchy" at 90 and beyond.
With spoiler up, it's stable to the 150 mark.
With the SRT spoiler on, it's PLANTED on the ground clean up to 150. Not a hint of wiggle.
At 60-70 you shouldn't have any issues w/o spoiler deployed. It's a design gimmick so all freeway motorists can watch your wing deploy as you merge onto the freeway, and the kids in the vans go "ooooooohhhhhhh" hahaha.
I don't think the wing TRULY starts to save your bacon until ~85+... otherwise known as illegal speeds.
Happy motoring!

Besides using it to make obscene, vaguely suggestive gestures to carloads of girls behind you at stop lights, it does provide downward force on the rear...just like spoilers are intended to do.

Is this going to be one of those "my wing is bigger than your wing" duels? Nothing written under the wing, but a waitress one time expressed her intrigue with the way it went up and down. Unfortunately she was way too young and I was way too married for that to go anywhere.
