Best car for the money
First of all i was happy to know there was a crossfire forum. I bought many expensive cars over 40,000 dollars, the crossfire is the best value for the money. I purchased a 2005 cross fire convertible with 48,000 miles for 12,900 i cant beleive what i got for the money. I am going to lookt at a 2006 crossfire monday not a convertible with 12,000 miles for 13,900 I will have a coupe and convertible, The coupe is a standard. does everyone use super unleaded in they cars, also do you guys change your own oil.
Thanks
Mario
Thanks

...and yes you need to use preimum fuel 91 or 92+ octane depending on where you live and the availability 92 octane petrol. I concour with Gary this is the best car...PJ
Welcome to the forum. Before I bought my crossfire I looked at many different "enthusiast" type cars and finally settled on the Challenger SRT/8. I love that car. However, i just could not pull the trigger on 40K+ for a new one. I saw a Crossfire while vacationing in Maine with my wife and we both decided right then and there we needed a roadster. Agreed, for the money, you simply cannot go wrong with a xfire.
Yes, premium, the stuff that's 4 bucks a gallon right now and soon to hit 5.
These cars are real easy to change the oil, save some sheckels and do it yourself. Keep your eyes peeled for sales and you can buy the oil for around 4 bucks or so a quart. Advance Auto has the filters everyday price for around 11 bucks.

2 crossfires! double the fun! I would suggest buying an oil evacuator, Sucks out used oil thru the dipstick hole...no mess, be sure & get one that handles all 8-9 quarts. Very glad I got one when I purchased the roadster.
Agree with Cajun -- buy an oil evacuator - but make sure it's large enough to hold at least one XFire oil change (volume). I started a thread on this a couple days back. May want to check out that one about my impressions and the comments / input from others as well.
I have a coupe and want a roadster too -- but I have college payments for my son -- so the car will have to wait -- otherwise I'd already have one.
Good luck.

Mario,
We've had our 05 roadster on the road about a month. I am still like a kid at Christmas. I can do most or all maintenance, so the likely cost of ownership for me is very reasonable. The cars are still way underpriced. I wish I had the dollars for another two or three! Not for investment, but to be sure I always have one to drive.
Cost of an oil change will be high unless you do it. Correct spark plugs are not cheap, and it takes 12! Neither of these occurs often, so don't really figure in, in my opinion.
Tires can be expensive. They seem to not last long on the Crossfire. My next set (soon) will be all season; I just don't expect much time running from the state troopers. The all season tires should be very acceptable, and last much longer.
The biggest downside so far is that it's like your grandmother's china. I want to save it for later, carefully wrapped in a box. I get over that when I drive it though.
Good luck.
Michael
