Pollen + Roadster
The pine/oak pollen is falling in coastal NC. Yuk. My silver roadster will be washed tomorrrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. I love/hate this time of year as all the flowers bloom but cars get covered in yellow/green pollen. You cant' go anywhere without this stuff sticking to ya. I don't like it and I am sure my XF hates it. Nothing to do but live through it. Alicia

I dusted mine off when I got to rehearsal and it was dusty again three hours later.
The count was 2259 at noon today (over 90 is "high"). It's almost to the level of being pollution.

Whats the best way you guys have found to remove pollen from the top?
I have been brushing with an upholstery brush but am afraid of burnishing the fabric being too rough.

Ditto here in Austin, dang OAK's spittin green funk all over everything faster than you can wipe it off! As mentioned above, I took my white car to work and by the time I got there it was tinted green. You would think at 80 it would blow off but NOOOO.... Next time I'll leaver her in the garage
The bad news is I have two scotch pines right next to my drive. The good news is that they have been invaded by the pine beetle and are not long for this world. In fact, I'm in the process of cutting them down. This will be the last spring I will have to fight the yellow-green pollen. Scotch pines are all dying out here.
I'll still have problem with the constant wind this time of year which blows the dust on almost everyday.

KimPossible: I like that yellow car and your Avatar.
She has the right way to solve this problem, get a yellow car! Almost bought one two or three years ago, but got black, my favorite. The pollen is killing me too, but it is really hard on paint. Scratches if you brush it off, be careful, it's better to wash it.

Hey Kim - those of us in the south are now all driving yellow roadsters! We are kissin' cousins to your real thing. But lovin' what we've got nonetheless - this pollen stuff with be over - eventually. Hate to put my silver streak out there on the road covered with all this goop. But - love the drive anyway! Alicia
Both our Xfires are garage queens at home and at work. But my d/d truck sits outside at night and has had a nasty yellow/green dust on it every morning.
I just finishing having a carport built onto my house and guess what ?
A carport is great for rain and sun but does nothing for pollen
So mine is under a car cover while its under the carport.

My white roadster is yellow too. The pollen in Atlanta is BAD! I moved here from Pa 10 years ago and have developed allergies because of it. As far a getting it off your car, yeah, water does it best! Can't wait till this "tree ***" dries up!!!
