Default Production # and Values

As a new forum member and recent purchaser of an 05 yellow conv.,I am curious as to the production #s of convertible for 05/06/07/ and08..I am also wondering what these cars were selling for when new ?? Does anyone have any ideas if the values of these cars will stabilize over time maybe be COLLECTABLES ??

Anyway, new, the sticker was about 42K but most were discounted 5 - 10K.

Try this, it works really well and we will be able to read it.

It's anyone's guess. If you bought to make money, you probably won't. Drive it and enjoy it....but keep it just in case...lol....

Somewhere I saw a list which had the Xfire as a future collectible. Probably won't happen in my lifetime BUT my grand kids may have a collectible if we still have gas by then. If I was a betting man I say the SRT is the real collectible.

I'm still waiting for my 1975 TR6 to be a collectible. Wait it is a collectible but it really has not appreciated in price. I paid around $4000 and it is worth about $12,000 that is an increase of $8000 over 36 years. That equates to about $220 per year. You don't want to know what I spent redoing the interior, etc. Seat padding alone was $550. BUT like the Xfire I really enjoy driving the TR oil leaks and all. I'm off to work on the beast. They tell me I enjoy that too --- right.

At some point all cars stabilize in price. Going rate for a junker is about $200-400.

I agree with olddoc2u enjoy the ride and let the good times roll.

From what I've seen this year over last, I think that they have stabilized. I don't think that I can replace mine for what I paid for it, but the difference isn't huge. And I think that a lot of us think of them as future collectibles when we do buy them, but again, not in my lifetime. Ours is a summer car and gets garaged for the winter, so with normal maintenance it should last a very long time. As long as the other drivers around us are paying attention, anyway.
So enjoy yours as much as you can while you can. It likely won't make much difference in the long run. And they are very enjoyable!

The Crossfire is a collectable. I collected 4 for the cost of a 7 series BMW. I am not alone. I won't lose or make money. That is not my interest. I love top shelf machines. gary
