Why would anyone want to do this? I prefer my corn in my tortilla's. This past April we raced a 700hp Class 1 unlimited buggy in the alternative fuel class of the Mexican 1000. We converted what was basically a Nascar motor but with fuel injection to run on E85. Even though we had the overall lead with 100 miles to go, it was basically a disaster. Fuel milage was way down causing big fueling/pit stop challenges. With the A/F ratio correct the exhaust temp was much hotter than running on gas. We acutally burn the headers off the car. We had trouble with spark plug gaps closing. When we tore the brand new engine down after the race and found we had a bad piston wrist pin which was the cuase of a knocking noise in the engine. I would never have anything to do with E85 again.

Thank God E85 got shelved with no thanks to the idiots over at the EPA. Don't even mention ethanol to the outboard motor crowd.

Me? I prefer my corn in my Green Mountain Gringo Corn Strips with blazing hot salsa.

Here in Kentucky we have a much better use for our corn. But it requires aging in charred oak barrels.

There is ZERO benefit to do this---ZERO! I have done MANY comparisons for friends and their cost/mile goes UP even though E85 is cheaper per gallon. This happens because of the FACT that there is LESS energy in the gallon of E85 thus yielding a lower mpg and a HIGHER cost/mile. Couple this with HIGHER cost of food because of the higher cost of corn and you have a Double whammy!!! Lower performance---a Higher cost per mile and Higher food cost---NO WIN all the way around!!!

E85 is really only useful for high-boost FI cars where it's the cheapest way to get a high octane fuel.

I don't think anybody has done E85 on a limited and I don't know why they would.

bikecop ran it on his SRT6, which Franc and Kathy own now...he converted back...didn't see any performance difference from what I remember...you would think an alcohol running car would be great, but all the things Lantana mentioned happens...
