Default Tire Pressure Sensor

The valve stem on my front passenger tire snapped off as a result of the salt air climate. I had a local tire shop replace the valve and tire pressure sensor. The sensor light on the dash has not turned off despite my driving for over a week on local and highway roads. I checked the tire pressure and found no problems. I also disconnected the battery to try to reset the computer. The tire shop is checking with Chrysler but no answer yet. Any experience or suggestions?

Because you replaced a sensor, the TPM has to relearn the sensors. This can be done at the dealer or some tire shop

Our TPM Light has been on for 5 yrs now , 1st time we took it to the Dealership they turned the Light off and said if it comes back on you have a Sensor thats bad, And guess what went back on the mext day, But the first time we had to buy tires for it the tire shop told us the TPM System only works if we use Nitrogen in the tires, Which we dont .

I hope you're not believing that scoop about the nitrogen in the tires?

I realy dont care one way or another, If the car doesn't sell by the first of the year, I'll just pull the Bulb out of the instrument cluster.

I put new wheels, new tires and new tpms on. The light came on and discount said they were not able to reset the computer. I need to take it to Chrysler to have it done $97.00 . Instead, I added more air to the tires, 34 in front and 36 in back. The light went out. I took the car to discount and told them what I did. They suggested 33 in front and 33 in back. Light is still off.

THere is a nice posting on how to remove the tps signal lead , By Rudy that I did to mine. Woody Bulb is not accessable and not reversable if you did pull the led.

I had my sensor replaced at the dealer on one of my rims. They couldn't get the light to shut off either. Had to take it to another dealer who had the tool to reset the sensor and it's been fine ever since. You may have to go to a Chrysler dealer to have it done. supposedly it's a special tool that you can't get elsewhere. Sort of like the GM Tech 2.

my light came on the day I bought the car new. I took it back and they fixed it and then when I was about 5 miles away from the dealer it came back on. By the way, I have nitrogen in my tires. I just drive with the light on the dash because I know this will be something that continually happens. This system has too many factors that can affect it and was a mistake for Chrysler in even incuding it (in my opinion)
