Default Replacement Chip #

Does anyone know of a chip that measures the tire(s) pressure in the engine? We have a 2008 Roadster and conncected to the engine to fine out hy the idot light comes on then off all the time. The chrysler boys says it is a bad computer chip and needs replaced. We forgot to get the part number. Cost is $750. Would like to know if anyone has ever to replace this part of had the same concern?

Thanks for your time.

Kj

If it came down to $750 and having the idiot TPMS light turned off permanently. I'd do the Rudy trick and disconnect the wire he mentions.
There is a module that handles the garage door opener and the TPMS. Maybe that is what they are talking about.
Why do they say its that part? Maybe its a bad sensor in a wheel. I presume it's the TPMS light you are talking about.

that is correct, I really think it is the sensor in the computer chip. Where can I find the Rudy post?

TPMS light...usually a wheel sensor is bad. It isn't a big deal. We have all managed for years to drive without knowing whether a tire was going flat or not. I don't see the big deal. I have driven my cars for a couple years now, and the damn light still hasn't burned out...lol

They refer to this as the "homelink module". The part # is 5170522AA.

This is located inside the vehicle at the center of the headliner by the windshield.

The price I was quoted is the regular price through the dealer BUT if you order online through the following site, it shows a cost of $356....................pretty BIG savings!

Buy Mopar Car Truck Parts | Genuine Discounted Mopar OEM Auto Parts | Mopar Accessories

I got this information from a Chrysler Expert Mechanic. I checked it out and it is exactly as stated. Not a chip more like a box. I will look under the hood tonight when I get home.

This takes you straight to the part on another site. $356 and change.
