Tranny dipstick on Ebay for $12 USD
All,
I just ordered a dipstick for transmission from Ebay for $12 USD (including shipping) from a seller in England.
Here is the link-
MERCEDES 722.6 TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK TOOL E430 C230 S55 SPRINTER CROSSFIRE JEEP | eBay
I had the transmission fluid changed this past week and just wanted to measure it to see if the levels were right.
My 2004 Xfire has 56000 miles and I was noticing a spot on the garage floor here and there. The transmission would also shift funny once in a while so thought of getting the pan dropped and getting the fluid, filter and the gasket changed.
The parts- 5 quarts of Mopar tranny fluid, Transmission filter and Gasket were over $200 plus my mechanic charged me $100 in labor. He also changed the O-ring part as well. The car is running like a charm now.
Cheers..
Paul

Using Waldig's zip tie design and the sizes shown in post #8 you can make your own and save.
Ho Ho Ho or is it TAAA DAAA heres your gift
In fact you could make your own from anything flexible and able to go down the filler hole.

onehundred80 --- again you come through! thanx to you and all the folks on the forum!
Regardless of any dipstick you use, this chart is what you need to get an accurate level

To anyone purchasing the homemade dipstick, I would like to see a measurement of the lines they recommend.
