Tops backordered.
Brought the Roadster to Chrysler yesterday for a warranty top replacement and was told the part is backordered 2-4 weeks.
I was expecting the backorder but the guy was blowing smoke about the wait.
Anyone have a current estimate on time?
Thx

Nobody knows.
I'll bet it's more like 2-4 months.
The service dept I'm dealing with is the worst I've ever seen but they're the only one in the area so I'm stuck.

Got a call from the stealer today. The top came in and the XF's going in early thursday.
Took about 3 weeks.
Now, can I trust them to install it correctly and not go joy-riding??? I will take note of the odometer when I drop it off.

My dealership got me my top in 24 hours but that was before the recall. They did a great job & my top looks amazing a year later. I think that I am lucky to live close to a really great CJD dealership. The good thing about your top is that it is really easy to tell if they did it right or wrong as soon as you pick it up. Ask them what the time frame for the top is & they won't have time to test drive it. Good luck - you will love the new top!
When you get "a new top", is it just the fabric or more than that? Header/Latch? Folding Mechanism? What is included other than labor and new fabric and window?

I guess the tough part to get is actually the snaps (of whatever) that attach the canvas to the top frame. Dang widgets are always hanging everything up....
Took dealer seven days to get mine back in January but he had the car three weeks claiming he didn't have anyone who could put it on. Ended up having three of his techs do the job anyhow and I put 1000 miles on the loaner car he gave me. Hope it holds us if we have a hot summer because I don't think they'll replace it again if the window falls out.

Ya gotta love this. Got a call from the stealership and they forgot to pull the car in shop so it sat there for 2 days. I told them I wanted the car for the weekend and I'll bring it back monday. They said the cashier will have the keys and to just stop by.
So I stopped in and the cashier handed a key over and said the car was out front.
I said this isn't my key and this guy said "it must be, just go try it." I went out and there was a gray NA Roadster with the back glass completly out.
I went in and said I'm looking for a triple black SRT6 Roadster.
He went out, looked at it and said "This is your car".
I said "to h3ll it is!
Another guy came out and said there's a black one in the back.
They finally came out with the right car.
If you have a gray Roadster at Planet Dodge, just note that they tried giving your car to a complete stranger.
To top it off, they wouldn't follow me home as I had 2 cars there.
All I can say is "WOW!"

When I got my top replaced it took about 3 weeks also. The dealer told my that they are only allowed to order a top every 14 days. I went to Allen Samuels on 610 near Reliant Stadium. They did an ok job but the seals could have been installed better but I'd rather deal with that than my window falling out. I'm glad my repair was covered.

I would recommend "Stitches" to anyone, for all Auto Upholstery need, JUST had my headliner on my Jaguar XJ8 done yesterday, and done a Great Job very reasonably, also just a one day job.
