Default Spare Keys

Hi!..when I bought my Xfr it seems I was lucky to get the one key fob to allow me to drive it away!..I am now a little nervous only having the one, so I wondered does anyone know where I can get a spare one!?

Thanks,

Claire

Keys are expensive, in the $120-$140 range. The keys are tied to your VIN#, so your best bet is to visit a local Chrysler Dealer's parts department and they will order it for you. There is no traditional "cutting" of a key. The dealer should program the key to your car, if they attempt to charge you for the service, refuse their charge and use the search button on this forum for "key programming" and it will give you a step by step procedure to accomplish the task.
Good Luck,
Dennis

Do a search on spare keys, there are a lot of posts on this subject and you can see who supplies them. NeedsWings is one of them and there are quite a few others. You can do the simple programming yourself as mentioned above, do a search on that as well.

I seem to recall you're UK based from a previous thread - that being said I rather suspect that the advice above is still valid. Do not assume that because they're a dealer they know what they're on about - the people I visited to view a 'vert were a bunch of idiots

This problem has been covered by some of the guys on the UK side so a quick search there may help with some more 'UK specific' issues
