Just bought my 2008 Crossfire Limited Roadster Friday and and have already drove it close to 1000KMs.
Was looking at either a black or white one, but I loved the way the grey one looked and jumped on it.

This forum is a wealth of knowledge with a bunch of great people who can answer almost any question you have about the Crossfire.

I heard somewhere (maybe in this forum?) that the 2008's were originally 2007's and Chrysler paid a fee to have them all re-VIN'd for 2008.

I had heard that also. There weren't actually 08's but rather "rebadged" for lack of a better word 07's.

A lot of 2004s were built in 2003, 2005s built in 2004 etc. This may be where that idea came from. I think the reason for the delay was getting them exported from Germany and the time it takes to get here on a cargo ship from Europe. They then had to be transported from the East Coast to dealers around the country. This all takes time.
The slow sales did not exactly make getting them there a priority either. Oh Well. their loss, our gain !

Crossfire production ended in December of 2007. What I understand, is that cars in Europe are considered to be the same model year that it was produced in. I think that's how the 2007/2008 model year mixup got started.
That's why you hear about 2003 Crossfires in Europe, and all 1st. generations are considered 2004's in the States.

Congrats on the new Roadster.
I see you frequent Caledon/Windsor. We have a Southern Ontario Crossfire Owners group if you're interested in registering (here is the link) : https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...-registry.html

Also, lots of great local people and Car Shows/events.

Here's one you may be interested in putting your new car into:

Looks like mine - hope you get the right transmission in it.
If you leave Tuesday, it'll be a relaxing drive to Fontana, NC for the weekend's Dragon run.

See you there!
