Default 3rd brakelight on 2005 roadster

My third brakelight, HCMSL, is only working sporadically on the left side of the LED strip. The other side is working fine. I have noticed in earlier posts that other owners have had the same problem.
My local dealer has quoted me a price of $300+ for a replacement strip.
Could someone lead me in the right direction for a cheaper one ?
Or even better a fix for the problem that wouldn't involve replacing the whole strip.

MrMopar has a few XF's that he is parting out. Contact him if he has one then thats your solution. His prices are very reasonable!

MrMopar does not have any roadsters as far as I know.

I just helped a forum member change out his center mounted brake lamp on his roadster.

I have the old lamp to take apart and check out. It is sealed/glued together really well and will be hard to open without destroying it. But I will give it a try when I get some time.

My left side also packed up a couple of weeks ago.I have managed to separate the lens by heating slighty in the oven and carefully scoring the join with a stanley knife. It took about 4 hours to separate but now it is done i will buy some led strips to go inside.

Try mopar2u dot com. They are a Chrysler dealer in Texas that has great prices. I have purchased several parts from them at a healthy discount.
