a compass for crossfire
What's the deal? Are they magnetized or or something?
HI the dealer said the crossfire has a magnetic filed, i brough one but did not work. like your white crossfire, the hood scoop is great. i do not have nav in the crossfire, i have a white 2006 roadster--------------dave
My Magellan gps unit works fine - it even tells me if I'm going north or south or ... you get the idea. I guess I don't know what this guy is trying to tell you!
Our Daughter has a white 05 .
I never heard anything about our cars having a "magnetic field" before. But that explains why my 8-track quit working.
Thanks for the props on my hood Dave .

That explains why my car seems faster when I drive near High Voltage Lines. It's the EMF's working.
If you got a Smartphone (iPhone or Droid), you can download the Compass app, and like magic your phone display turns into a Compass.
So the Dealer said the inside of the Xfire is magnetized and a Compass won't work there.
Sounds a little fishy to me...

Yes, mechanical compasses are magnetic. They point to magnetic north. The electronics in the car can throw off a mechanical compass. Today most nearly every compass in a car is electrical. Like te ones in a gps or in a phone. I think the guy was just lazy or more likely afraid of the wiring in the Crossfire.
some of the crossfires are weird,,, some of you may remember at the dragon last Oct 2011,, I was complaining that my aftermarket gps was not working,,,and that i had tried two different manufacture's gps,,,so about 10 members with there gps moved to within 7 ft. of my car and all 10 of them quiet working once i started the engine, once i shut the engine off they all worked again. jim

Hey Dave, there are numerous smartphone apps that will save you money and time regarding a compass for your Crossfire.
sorry ichon, some of us don't have cel phones, much less the smart phone,, yes i do know what it is but don't think i will own one . so the app store will have to close down LOL. jim
