Default What do you think of your Roadster

I'm new here and I'm very seriously considering a Crossfire Roadster purchase in the new year. I'm just waiting for my insurance rates to go down at 25 & gt; and I'm wondering how all of you feel about your roadsters, the pros, cons and everything in between.

Thanks
-Frank

One of the most fun cars to drive. I also have an auto-stick, and I love it. I have had alot of cars and this car is awesome to drive.

I finally have over 1,000 miles on mine and that would be 1,000 wonderful miles!
Love the car. I've had them all from vettes to Porches to Jeeps and everything in between, this is the best.

Thanks for your opinions, I took one out for a road test yesterday and the girlfriend and I are both sold on the car. Now just to play the waiting game.

Frank,
Congratulations on a good choice. What color did you order and how long is your "waiting game" going to be? I ordered mine the end of June and I was told to expect it late August or early September.
Enjoy the anticipation period!

Oh I meant I gotta wait till next year till I turn 25 and the insurance goes down. I plan on ordering one in Feb and having delivery in April or May depending on how the weather is up here. Colour wise the Gf and I decided on the Sapphire Silver Blue Metallic. Let me tell you tho I can't wait to get it and put the top down and cruise, it was so much fun to drive and the looks we got, it was great

My husband calls this car the most fun he has ever had in his life with his clothes on! We have had our red Roadster for just 4 weeks and we practically live in it! The "Wow" factor is unbelievable!

Sandyle - You do not have listed where you live. Be sure to look under "Meets" for activity in your area. We all enjoy meeting other XF owners and we try to get together and "Hook-Up" or "Cross-Up" as often as possible. You do not really know what the "Wow" factor of this car is until you have driven all day with a lot of other XF's!!

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

Thanks, VegasCrossfire for the warm welcome! We are in West St. Louis County in Missouri. Not the most ideal climate for convertibles but...fun while the weather cooperates!

 I purchased the car for me as a toy, but my wife loved it so much I never get to drive it, we have had many cars like , 1985 380 SL, 1978 Pace Vet, 1969 Mustang and at present a 2003 XJ8 Jag, but the XF is just such a fun car to drive we love it. Ours in a Aero Blue 2005 Limited Roadster. We live on LONG ISLAND N.Y. and would like to meet others who have Crossfire's, or maybe any clubs.

Sandyle, my dealer called me on Wednesday to come in and see the red roadster he had ordered for another customer. My daughter and I went up to look. If is beautiful!! Even the sales and service people at the dealership loved it. It is the first red roadster that they (and we) have seen. Mine is in production and should be here in five weeks.
It seems that they have been coming thru as both Blaze Red and Inferno Red. I think AZBOBK's was Inferno Red, this one was Blaze Red. What is yours? My understanding is that they are the same color, MB using Blaze Red and Chrysler using Inferno Red. However, I think the two designations carry different part numbers for the paint.

My sticker clearly lists Inferno Red Pearl Coat as a $150 option. When I was at the dealership earlier this week, I inquired about touch up paint. I don't need it yet but I know the day is coming. There is no part number for Inferno Red for the Crossfires so the parts manager pulled up my build sheet off the Star Network. The build sheet clearly shows my car is Blaze Red. So what color is it ?:? My sister-in-law says it's Speeding Ticket Red.

Hmm...it sounds like it's "dealer owes you $150 rebate" Red.

Sorry, no rebate because the Blaze Red carries the $150 charge too.

Hi everyone!
My Hubby just bought me a Xfire Roadster 2 weeks ago. I have to turn in my CTS mid-Sept, so we were just driving through some lots and I came across this Alabaster Roadster and fell in love with it. Turns out he had an ulterior motive cause less than a week later he comes home with a new Z06. (funny that there's a thread on both of those) All 3 of our kids were in college last year, with 1 graduating from OSU last June, so I guess we celebrated the lack of 1 tuition bill with a couple of new cars.
I have never had so much fun driving a car before. I thought my CTS was fun, but the Roadster beats that by far! I finally have a car that's not practical and awesome to drive.
There are just a couple things that puzzle me about it. I was wondering why the horn doesn't work when the key isn't in, and the same thing about the garage door openers. I wanted to open the garage door before I started it but it wouldn't work until I turned the key on. And I think I would rather have the horn work even with the key out, cause what if I'm just parked somewhere and someone is going to back into me or something and the horn doesn't work cause the key isn't in? Maybe it's supposed to and there's something wrong with mine? I don't know.
My kids always tell me that I analyze everything too much.
Well anyway, I'm looking forward to learning much more about the Crossfire on this forum and just wanted to say Hi to you all!

Hi All:

I've had my Inferno Red Crossfire roadster for 3 weeks. Got my luggage over the weekend too. Mine is a 6 speed manual and I'm loving it.

One thing, though, it was difficult for me to get the one that I wanted - had to wait for a dealer swap, even tried to order it. Consequently, it has the navigation system on it that no one seems to know how to work. Anyone have any experience with it?

Hi Barb - Welcome!!!
Sorry - I can't help you with your navigation system question - but since you live in Southern California - I wanted to make sure you knew about the "Meets" section. We have two "Meets" scheduled in the next 6 weeks in Las Vegas - and one in Yosemite next year. There will be more ...
